HivePostify Needs Help to Stay Online While I Finish the Shift to Real Use
Hello @blocktrades @gtg @howo @smooth @roelandp @arcange @acidyo @stoodkev @jarvie @asgarth @hivepostify
I am not writing this to retell 2020. You already know why Hive exists. You were there when the chain had to be rebuilt so the community could keep the product, the accounts, and the work that had already been done.
I am Aftab Irshad. I have spent the last year building HivePostify from Pakistan. For most of that year I was coding, fixing, and testing. I did not promote it well. That part is on me.
The immediate problem is simple. The yearly server and domain cost is due. I need $300 to keep the platform online. I still have some time left, but if this cost is not covered, HivePostify will go offline.
I have already heard the criticism that matters. Another frontend is not enough. Asking for money is not a product. A useful product is one that creates demand for Hive, or creates revenue, or makes someone willing to spend a few dollars because it solves a real problem.
That is the change I am making now.
HivePostify is moving away from “post more” as the main purpose. The focus is the marketplace. Freelancers create gigs. Buyers place orders. Hive is used for work, not only collected as a reward and withdrawn. Hive Keychain and posting keys will not stay the recommended path for new users. The next version is being shaped around easier login and a system that normal people can actually use.
I know this is not proven yet. That is why I need the platform to stay live. If it shuts down now, there is nothing left to prove. If it stays online for one year, I can promote the marketplace and come back with numbers: how many people used it, how many stayed, and how many powered up Hive instead of taking it out.
I do not like asking for funds. I am a student. I do not have the $300 right now. I am asking because I want one year of working room, not a cycle of monthly panic.
If you can help cover the server cost, it keeps the product alive long enough to finish this shift. If you cannot send funds, a vote or a reblog still helps the post reach people who can.
I also want to mention @freebornsociety and @buildawhale. On my account @aftabirshad, downvotes come near the 7-day payout window. It looks automated, and it happens on this username, not on my other account. If I have made a mistake, tell me how to fix it. If this can be stopped, please help me understand how. You can also contact me on Discord at aftabirshad.
