Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the Pinky & Spiky Comic Contest #2: Rainy Day Cabin Fever
Once again, you all took my little prompt and completely gave it your own different interpretations. I loved seeing how each of you imagined Pinky and Spiky dealing with being stuck indoors while the rain just wouldn't stop.
I had a really fun time browsing through the entries and choosing the winners. There were several entries that I genuinely enjoyed. I judged the comics based on creativity, storytelling, humor, and how well the comic captured the rainy day cabin fever theme.
And now... let's reveal the winners
1st Place — @glyffie
- Prize: 3 HIVE - I loved the way the situation developed across the panels. The rainy day boredom leads to the unexpected solution of turning the rain itself into something useful like an endless coffee. There is a clear setup, progression, and punchline, and most importantly, it made me smile. The pixel art style also gives the comic its own personality and makes it instantly recognizable as one of @glyffie's work
2nd Place — @organduo
- Prize: 2 HIVE - The accordion was such a fun choice to showcase Spiky's other talent, and I especially enjoyed seeing Pinky's expression change as she tried to endure the sound of the ugly instrument 😂 The four panel format works really well here. There is a clear beginning, middle, and punchline, and the personalities of Pinky and Spiky come through beautifully. And that final panel with Spiky happily playing while Pinky is clearly suffering.
3rd Place — @leysa
- Prize: 1 HIVE - This was a clever take on the theme. The title immediately sets up the joke, and then Spiky hearing the rain as Bach takes it even further. The rainy window, the musical notes, Pinky's cabin-fever expression, and Spiky completely absorbed in his concert all work together. Plus the presence of Dietrich added a cuteness factor to the overall mood.
I wish I could add more winners but let me make special mentions to the following that deserve recognition

The indoor zoo was such a wonderfully chaotic interpretation of the prompt I loved how many characters and little details were packed into the scene. It really captured the idea of cabin fever turning the house into complete madness.

I really enjoyed the character interaction in this one. Spiky tries to stay sensible while Pinky has already reached the point where jumping in puddles sounds like the best idea ever. It had a lovely little story and felt very true to the personalities of the characters.

The idea of Pinky and Spiky becoming so bored that they start counting their snacks over and over again was hilarious. The expressions and situation communicated the joke very clearly.

I enjoyed the continuation of the NFT duck gag and the way Pinky and Spiky's boredom was shown through their ridiculous attempts to entertain themselves. It was a fun continuation of the characters' little world.
Thank you to EVERYONE who participated. I really love seeing how different artists interpret Pinky and Spiky. Everyone brings their own style, humor, and imagination to them, and that's exactly what makes these contests so much fun.
