The Christian journey is not always a smooth ride. It is not as some think it to be as a “bread and butter” experience. Challenges will arise and at times they may be tough. That is why we need to understand that true prosperity is more than material success, it is spiritual well-being. The scripture says in 3 John 2;
>“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”
Also, in Genesis we read that Joseph, though in prison, was described as “a prosperous man” because, God was with him. Genuine prosperity, therefore, is not measured by what we have or our location but by God’s presence and purpose in our lives.
If our passion for God cannot make us endure hardship, then our faith means very little. Faith that costs you nothing is worth nothing.
