El duelo se vive, no se anestesia. [Esp-Eng]

❤️❤️❤️❤️English Version.❤️❤️❤️❤️

This morning I was sitting by my window, something I like to do every morning. I see the flowers in my garden, the neighborhood dogs and cats, and the birds playing in the sky, and the occasional neighbor passing by. Sometimes I drink coffee, other times I listen to music, and sometimes I just sit there in silence, pray, and think.

But today something different happened. The neighbor next door was talking to a woman. One of them was saying that she had separated from her partner, that she felt like her life was over, and that she couldn't think about anything else. Her friend recommended that she work, study, start exercising, join a gym—that she keep busy so she wouldn't dwell on what had happened.

I immediately started thinking that we often recommend certain things that seem like the right path, and while it's true that it's good to do activities that clear your mind, it's also true that we can't run away from our problems by overloading ourselves with activities.

We must be aware that the problem exists, which in this case is a separation, but it could be bankruptcy, death, migration, the loss of property... If we try to ignore our problem, we won't be able to process it, analyze it, and understand its possible causes; we won't learn from it, and worse yet, we won't overcome it... The problem is there and it will stay there.

What will happen is that we will be busy, with a wound in our soul, trying to be strong, accumulating pain, carrying an unfinished cycle, running from our truth, resisting grief, repressing our feelings, and opening the door to depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, or extreme exhaustion. Many illnesses are a reflection of our soul, and a soul that hasn't allowed itself to process wounds and painful, intense, or traumatic events is a soul that sooner or later will break so that it can be heard.

We can't go through life overloading ourselves with activities to avoid closure. And although it hurts, every problem or difficult situation we experience has a specific and transformative purpose. Many people think the right thing to do is not to think about the problem, but if we don't think about it, if we don't process it, if we don't internalize it, we won't learn, and we may repeat the same mistakes.

If you are going through a difficult time in your life right now, if you need to close a chapter, please don't try to fill your life with activities to numb the pain in your soul. If someone tells you they are going through this tough time in their life, don't recommend they stay busy 24 hours a day.

Pain, heartbreak, loss, goodbyes, and any end of a cycle must be processed. We must look it in the eye and understand it, live it, feel that stage. We must be brave and face the situation, process it, learn, cry, feel the pain, and finally let go, feel the calm, feel how we can move forward and welcome a new cycle. If someone close to you is going through this stage, support them and understand that being sad, down, and grieving is part of their process; and if you are going through it yourself, I embrace you and believe that tomorrow will be more beautiful.
