El Verdadero Rostro Del Narcisismo. [Esp-Eng]

❤️❤️❤️❤️English Version.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday, I happened to pass by the house of a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. She studied with me at university and was undoubtedly one of the best in our class—polite, intelligent, elegant, and a bit vain, because despite her age, she looked really good, better than many younger women.

We formed a close friendship, but as the years passed, I realized that many of her stories were lies. It also struck me that her children completely abandoned her, and not because of migration, since they all live in the same area. Over time, I not only discovered lies, but I also came to understand her true personality, as she changed completely. I also began to understand her deep loneliness and bitterness.

Her children distanced themselves from her because she was a narcissist. I understood that almost her entire life was a lie, everything was a facade; she only presented what she wanted because she manipulated us all. We often see narcissists on television, listen to podcasts, or read stories and accounts, and we think it's not real, that it's impossible for someone to dedicate their life to destroying their surroundings, manipulating and deceiving everyone.

But the harsh reality is that narcissists exist; they destroy their families, their communities, and their own lives. Meeting this person was interesting for me because I never believed that someone with so much potential could do everything to end up so badly.

Today, many people define themselves as narcissistic and toxic with a certain pride. Some even enter into relationships with someone with this type of personality and romanticize it, failing to understand how delicate it is and the danger they face.

A person with narcissistic personality traits needs help, especially when we're talking about a personality disorder. When you only see the narcissist's "facade," you only see the successful person, the "model" person; you see the unreal life, what the narcissist wants to project.

But their true personality—their draining, hurtful nature, the manipulation, the pain, the control, and the constant lies—is only known and suffered by their family, their children, their partner, and those close to them. They are the ones who endure the narcissist's exhausting dynamic, and almost all of them end up making the decision to distance themselves.

Some people accept the dynamic with the narcissist. These people end up being objects on whom the narcissist pours all their frustration. They are also people with certain psychological conditions: low self-esteem, emotional dependency, and they have fallen prey to control and manipulation. This isn't weakness; it's the dynamic and the narcissist's objective. This is why not only the narcissist needs help, but everyone around them does too.

That's why when we see a person with certain traits or a narcissistic personality, we shouldn't just label them. We shouldn't normalize something that is so destructive. Entire families are broken by these kinds of dynamics. Mental health is not a game. We must learn to take care of ourselves, we must set boundaries, and we must learn to walk away without guilt because our priority is to save ourselves.
