Un día de cuadros y triángulos
En el paseo de la vida no sabemos cuándo la vida nos puede cambiar de repente y tampoco precisamos todo lo que podemos aprender o cambiar. Hoy tuve la oportunidad de asistir a una conferencia de inteligencia artificial donde pude interactuar y conocer a gente nueva. En esta oportunidad la publicación no trata de la conferencia; ya les haré otra para hablar de términos y conceptos. Esta vez se trata de las almas que nos encontramos en la vida y que pueden hacerla de triángulos, de cuadritos o estrellas.
Así fue el encuentro de hoy con una de esas personas que solo ves una sola vez, pero que te suman mucho y uno mismo también a ellas. En la salida del evento de hoy, me esperaba un carro que había contratado y en él iba de chofer una mujer de nombre María. Tuve que cruzar la calle para llegar hasta ella, y al abrir la puerta, lo primero que me dijo fue: "Qué preciosa te ves, pareces una reina con ese cabello y ese cuerpo". Esas frases me causaron mucha risa, porque mi respuesta fue: "Sí, así me recibes; no te imaginas la alegría que acaba de regalarme con tu reconocimiento". Acto seguido, ella me comparte que no estaba feliz en su cuerpo, y que ya no usaba maquillaje, porque se sentía como una señora mayor. Ella tenía 52 años, por lo que no pude dejar de reírme porque yo le dije entre risas que era mayor que ella.
Yo le dije que de mi abuela y mi mamá, yo tenía como costumbre maquillarme los labios, así me quedara en mi casa, porque nunca se sabía quién podía llegar de visita o simplemente para uno mismo verse bien. Fueron como 10 minutos de conversación, pero solo ese tiempo bastó para hacer de cuadros y triángulos estrellas para continuar y sonreír. Al despedirse, María me dijo: "Desde ahora me voy a volver a pintar los labios y voy a caminar para sentirme mejor".
Es increíble lo que pueden hacer dos almas cuando en sintonía logran generar empatía.

A Day of Squares and Triangles
On life's journey, we never know when life might suddenly change, nor do we know all that we can learn or change. Today, I had the opportunity to attend an artificial intelligence conference where I was able to interact with and meet new people. This post isn't about the conference itself; I'll write another one to discuss terms and concepts. This time, it's about the souls we encounter in life, who can shape it like triangles, squares, or stars.
That's how today's encounter went with one of those people you only meet once, but who add so much to your life, and you to them in turn. As I left the event, a car I had hired was waiting for me, driven by a woman named Maria. I had to cross the street to reach her, and when I opened the door, the first thing she said was, "You look beautiful, like a queen with that hair and that figure." Those words made me laugh so much, because my response was, "Yes, that's how you greet me; you can't imagine the joy your kind words have just given me." She then shared that she wasn't happy in her own skin and that she no longer wore makeup because she felt like an old woman. She was 52, so I couldn't help but laugh because I jokingly told her I was older than her.
I told her that, like my grandmother and mother, I always wore lipstick, even if I was staying home, because you never know who might come to visit, or simply to look good. We talked for about 10 minutes, but that was enough time to make squares and triangles into stars, to keep smiling. As we said goodbye, María told me, "From now on, I'm going to start wearing lipstick again, and I'm going to walk to feel better."
It's incredible what two souls can do when they connect and create empathy.
