Has OpenAI achieved AGI with its recent model or did it already happen?

So I opened the X app some minutes ago and was flooded with reports of AGI being achieved by OpenAI.
Apparently, Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, is the man behind this new wave of reports of artificial general intelligence being reached by the ChatGPT maker.
I quickly recalled that some time in the past when I wasn't back posting my thoughts on hive’s immutable blockchain, I came across certain headlines that put Stripe at the center of this major AI discussion.
I know, I know, what could a payment company have to do with AI? I thought the same thing at the time, but at this point, it should be clear to most people that AI is something everyone ought to be very much interested in.
Anyways, here's something:

Interesting, don't you think?
The thing is, most people don't want to hear companies and personalities in the tech business talking “big” about these things because it all just sounds like advertising.
A chip maker saying we've reached AGI, certainly he stands to benefit from such an event, yes?
Indeed.
Sam Altman, Elon Musk, these two have also talked about having entered the singularity.
And of course, people just don't want to hear it.
One might say that it brings all the fears that come with it alive.
Because if AGI is actually here, then what exactly are we supposed to be looking at?
Is it simply another model release, another impressive benchmark, another system that can do things previous models couldn't do? Or are we talking about something fundamentally different from what we've been calling AI up until now?
The argument around AGI has always seemed to suffer from the fact that nobody really agrees on what the actual finish line looks like. We have models that can reason, write, code, analyze images, use tools and perform tasks that, only a few years ago, would have sounded ridiculous to expect from a machine.
Yet somehow, we keep moving the goalpost.
Do we realize just about how insane it is that a machine can autonomously or by little human involvement, do these things?
Maybe look back on the popular Will Smith AI-generated clip of him eating noodles and compare that to current model performance when it comes to video generation.
Maybe we missed the plot because AGI was never really about one particular capability as some folks have suggested. Maybe it is the combination of capabilities, the ability to learn and adapt across different areas without being specifically built for each one.
And perhaps that's why these statements from people sitting at the very center of the AI industry deserve some attention, even when we are naturally skeptical of them.
The problem however is that you could agree to the above statements without realizing that it isn't anything original to me because it's been said before yet never applied to evaluating models, that's why we still have these debates.
The conclusion I've managed to come to is that the thing we are waiting for probably doesn't arrive with a big announcement saying, “AGI has arrived.”
It could happen or have happened quietly, through a series of models and systems that become or became increasingly capable.
One day we could look back and realize that the line had already been crossed.
So back to the original question.
Has OpenAI achieved AGI with its recent model, or did it already happen?
I would argue that it doesn't matter much, labels shouldn't really matter at this point, it mostly just causes social unrest and political tension.
What should matter is how we treat every bump up in capabilities with new model releases.
These are real big advancements happening in real time but most people can only perceive AI through cat videos.
We should we way past trying to figure out the inflection point for the technology.
