In the sapiential literature of the Bible, the wise man and the fool are people in eternal conflict, because what underlies these two types of persons are two opposing mentalities or discernments. While wise and sensible men seek peace, order, and all that increases life, fools seek chaos, injustice, and destruction. And the Book of Proverbs, with its famous sayings, constantly reflects on this spiritual theme. Biblical education has a purpose, and whoever understands it in its true sense cannot go wrong in life. Knowing how things work in life beyond heresies and masks to look good is fundamental to achieving one's own goals. Being confused in life is the worst thing that can happen, something that unfortunately happens to many people today. This is also why the Book of Proverbs leaves a saying as a general maxim to follow from which many more are derived about wise and foolish people: "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm" Proverbs 13:20. This principle teaches that avoiding conflicts with fools is fundamental because they have no knowledge of how to live, they are extremely unpredictable, and in many cases, problems are solved with violence, that is, by physically eliminating the adversary. This is why, as a consequence of the previous teaching, another maxim from Proverbs is deduced with these words: "If a wise person takes a fool to court, there will be ranting and ridicule but no satisfaction" Proverbs 29:9. This phrase teaches that in a dispute with a fool, there is no possible moral gain beyond a court ruling, the wise person can learn from their mistakes, but the fool cannot. Therefore, the logic that wisdom dictates is to avoid suffering as much as possible. For a wise person, there is no self-love to nurture, but rather action to seek that wisdom that gives life to all things. These teachings from the Bible leave as a spiritual lesson that true happiness is only found by living among the wise, and that fools should be avoided.
