From the Sea of Clouds to the Shadows of the Quake

Hello, Hive travelers! Recently, my coworkers (all four couples) and I from our municipality planned a memorable escape from Kawasoti to the historic hills of Gorkha. It turned out to be a journey of profound contrasts-an uplifting voyage into the heavens, grounded by a humbling visit to a site of national tragedy. Ligligkot:The Village Above the Sky Our drive began along the rushing turquoise waters of the Trishuli River, where we captured a stunning shot of the bridge and a local fisherman braving the rocky banks. Along the winding roads, I spotted a traditional wooden Sarangi and had to bring it home! I bought it with grand ambitions of playing like a maestro, but sadly, the seller's magic didn't transfer with the instrument-my playing is definitely a work in progress!

We finally made it to Ligligkot, perfectly coined the "Village Above the Sky." Standing on the ancient fort, we were surrounded by a literal, breathtaking ocean of clouds. We spent the evening in pure joy: all four couples dancing together, and grilling delicious Sekuwa over an open fire before settling into a cozy, warm Gurung homestay.

Barpak: The Shadows of the Quake The next morning greeted us with a bitter chill, which felt almost fitting as we approached our solemn destination. We visited the striking globe-topped monument built in memory of the Gorkha Earthquake. Standing there, facing the exact moment it hit-April 25, 2015, 11:46 AM-was incredibly heavy. This single event took thousands of lives and shook our entire nation. Standing on that serene, cloud-wrapped hill, staring at the massive structure, was a powerful and humbling reminder of how fragile life is compared to the majestic mountains around us.
