Somewhere in Gameweek 3, every player with a big price tag held a meeting and collectively decided to do nothing.
We have the receipts. And the price crashes.
The premium bracket, ladies and gentlemen 💸
These men went into Gameweek 3 as the most expensive assets on the board. Here is what they produced:
- Bruno Fernandes — 90 MEDALS. Ninety minutes. Two points. Last week he put 23 on the board and hit the ceiling. This week he went missing so thoroughly that his price dropped 8. Hero to zero in seven days. - João Pedro (CHE) — 76. Ninety minutes. One point. Crashed to 66. The single worst value-per-minute in the entire market. - Saka — 76. Eighty-nine minutes, two points. 76 → 68. - Cole Palmer — 70. Ninety minutes, one point. 70 → 62. The man who tore Fulham apart in week one couldn't find a shot in week three. - Gabriel — 68. Two points. 68 → 58. - Groß — 60. One point. He'd risen 44 → 60 the week before on the back of a 13-point haul. Straight back down to 52. Easy come.
Special mention to Arsenal, who managed to get Saka, Gabriel, Calafiori and White onto the same shame list in a single weekend. A remarkable feat of collective anonymity.

Meanwhile, in the bargain bin 📈
While the galácticos were having their nap, this lot were actually playing:
- Bogle (LEE) — 14 points. Price 34 → 56. Biggest riser of the week. - Isak (LIV) — 13 points. 38 → 58. - Mitchell (CRY) — 15 points. 26 → 46. The top scorer of the entire round, bought for less than half of what Bruno cost. - Vuskovic (BHA) — 30 → 48. Barnes (NEW) — 28 → 46. Janelt (BRE) — 38 → 54.
Every single one of them was cheaper than the players who flopped. Every single one.
Three gameweeks in, the pattern isn't subtle any more: the market rewards form, not reputation. If you're buying names off the telly, you're playing the wrong game.

The leaderboard: five players, top of the pile
Our leader sits at +61 — and here's the part that should annoy everyone with a full squad: he's only holding five players.
Eleven slots available. He's used five. He's beating traders with complete elevens by a distance, because the five he picked are the right five.
In second, +31, a trader carrying eight. Third, +18, carrying five.

A quiet win for the new price cap
We widened the maximum weekly price move from ±50% to ±75% last week. Gameweek 3 was its first outing.
Result: exactly one player out of 654 hit the ceiling — Marc Mitchell, whose 15-point explosion wanted to take him to 48 and got trimmed to 46. Under the old rules he'd have been chopped down to 39.
That's the cap doing its actual job: invisible almost always, protective in the extreme. Big weeks now get to be big weeks.
