Energy of the Near Future

Things are really messed up.
This summer is cooking! We will soon lose a large city because so much AC was needed, that they electric lines turned red and melted. This will be the state of future summers, as we move into the cold part of the ice age. More brutal, but short, summers.
We will soon have to make an expedition to a large city in the winter. It is completely snowed in, for weeks. The hydro rivers are freezing. A convoy of trucks is assembled behind a line of snow moving equipment. Food and fuel must get through. This will be the state of future wintrs, as we move into the cold part of the ice age. Longer, colder, winters.
Fortunately, there will be new energy sources. Unfortunately, they are going to be high cost, high complexity systems. The govern-cement doing what they do best. Continue the control power.
And then, often because of necessity, people will start making locally produced, pollution free, continuous electric power plants.
I wish we went straight to the better stuff. It was worked out in the 1970s.
Fission and Fusion Nuclear Reactors
If you remember, long ago, there was a multi-national group that was working on a fusion reactor. And, just as they got to 1:1 (1 energy out per 1 energy in) The US pulled their funding.
Apparently, they took this research underground. And, now, i am hearing rumblings about fusion reactors going live, to an electric grid near you. I hope this is true, but there is no way to prove this, until they do.
The thing i do know is that there is a force trying to get us to build many new fission reactors. More nuclear material to poison the earth when it gets not-properly-disposed-of. More destructive mines. More burning of our precious resources, that we do not know just how precious they are yet… Just to boil water to turn the machinery.
There is much easier ways to make steam. Easy, clean. No melting down. No explosive radioactive dust cloud.
But, there is a group of people who want just that.
Solar and Wind are shtupid
The price of precious metals is about to skyrocket! And i don't mean low earth orbit. (photovoltaic) Solar panels will become very expensive.
Those big windmills, with their giant blades that have to be replaced and can't be recycled, rarely pay for themselves. Imagine that you are paying for the ugly sight, for nothing. Just the good feelings that you are helping save the environment… when you are not.
Photovoltaic solar panels work very in mostly sunny and rarely rainy climates. Also, where the nearest electric line is miles away, it is cheaper to buy enough solar panels to run your homestead for less.
That we cover huge fields with them, while leaving Phoenix's parking lots uncovered is just idiotic. (however, legally speaking, it is cheaper. We need to clean up the legal)
Right now, we hear of huge solar array farms, and they are getting destroyed by hail. (and yes, the large hail will be normal until we have moved out of this ice age)
Basically, we are just exporting our pollution to China with these windmills and solar panels.
In the future, solar electric generation will just be built into glass. Until then, it is very situational whether it is good source of energy.
The stuff before free energy
Free energy will not be allowed on this planet until we learn to stop attacking everything.
But, we have many sources of energy that are continuous, pollution free, and locally produced.
1. Wave Power This is just putting a giant paddle wheel in the ocean next to the coast. The waves crash into the paddle boards and turn the wheel. Easy easy to design, a bit harder to engineer, because you have to deal with storms. Also, to make this work well, it needs to be about the size of a Ferris Wheel. So, build one and a Ferris Wheel next to it to hide it from Green Peace activists. (who do everything they can to stop the environment from being protected)
2. Real Solar This is not quite the same thing as silicon wafer photovoltaic panels. The best way to think of it is like using a metal panel to heat water directly. There are Fresnel lenses that can focus the suns rays on a pipe to heat water (or other refrigerants) directly. There will also be, as i have said, glass panels that are turned into electric producers. Maybe with single layer carbon sheets. There are also ways to use electrical condensors to turn sunlight into electrical charge.
3. Geo Thermal This one is easy, except everyone tries to use it to boil water. 212° is 5 miles down. Difficult to drill these depths with hot pockets and explosive gasses. But 3 miles down, and we have the heat to boil Tri-fluoro Tri-chloro Ethane. (A high temperature refrigerant.) Boil, turn a turbine, recombine, repeat. All you need to do is drill a deep well, about the price of an oil well, but without the downside of not striking oil.
4. Magnet Motor And now, the one that will destroy the Modern Materialistic Science. There is a way to make a device that spins, powered only by permanent magnets. The problem is one of engineering, not of science. Currently the ones that exist don't have much torque. And so, cannot turn our iron box-core generators. So, we can make generators that have less starting torque by removing the iron, and using just copper. Or we can improve the torque by someone finding some kind of twist to the permanent magnets.
We will solve all our energy problems. Drill for, extracting, transporting oil will be seen as expensive. And will be saved for things like plastics and greases.
Our portable, power needing devices will be powered by magnet motors. We will truly have cordless drills.
Geothermal wells will not only provide electricity but house heating too. Making it great for small communities.
This is just the beginning of our delve into actual, practical energy devices. There is two or three more layers after this.
And, then those "hard-science fiction" authors will be embarrassed. All of that brain power wasted on a reality that actually doesn't exist. There is lots of energy to fly between the stars. And, again, sticking a fork in Modern Materialistic Science, we will find many layers of movement that doesn't involve "thrust"
