Our dear friend's baby shower [ESP/ENG]

Last weekend, my family and I were invited to the baby shower for our neighbor's daughter—someone who has obviously been our neighbor for many years. In fact, they are more than just neighbors; we have always considered each other family and have stood by one another through thick and thin. It was a great pleasure for me to attend this event and celebrate with the young woman I watched grow up; it brings me joy to see that soon—very soon, God willing—she will become a mother.
>El fin de semana pasada mi familia y yo fuimos invitados a la fiesta de Baby Shower de la hija de nuestra vecina y quien obviamente fue nuestra vecina por muchos años, además ellos son más que vecinos, siempre nos hemos considerado familia y hemos estado siempre en las buenas y en las malas, así que para mi fue un enorme placer poder asistir a este evento y celebrarlo junto con esta chica a quién yo vi crecer, así que me complace ver que pronto, ya muy pronto, Dios mediante, será mamá.
The celebration took place at a beautiful estate with plenty of green space—offering a wonderful connection to nature—and I obviously couldn't pass up the chance to take some photos with the stunning, flower-filled shrubs.

There were many fun games and activities that all the guests took part in—like this one where we all had to imagine that the blue balloon was the baby about to be born, so we had to show it lots of affection, stroke it gently, and speak to it tenderly 😄.
>Hubo muchos juegos y dinámicas divertidas en als que participamos todos los invitados, como por ejemplo esta en la que todos debíamos imaginar que ese globo azul era el bebé que estaba por nacer, así que debíamos darle mucho cariño, hacerle caricias y hablarle con ternura 😄.
Afterwards, we took part in a game that had everyone laughing; the goal was to hold a handkerchief by the tip using just two fingers and pass it to the person next to you without letting it fold. If it folded, the person holding it at that moment would lose and have to leave the group. Towards the end—after the game had been going on for a while and many people had been eliminated—my youngest daughter and I were still in it. Eventually, I was out, leaving her to compete against another participant; sadly, my youngest daughter lost, but the activity was incredibly fun 😃.
>Luego participamos en un juego que hizo reír a todo el mundo pues se trataba de agarrar un pañuelo desde la punta usando dos dedos y debíamos pasarlo al compañero que tuviésemos al lado, evitando que este se doblara, si se doblaba, la persona que lo tuviera en ese momento perdería y tendría que salir del grupo, casi al final, cuando ya el juego había avanzado mucho y muchas personas habían salido, todavía quedábamos mi hija menor y yo participando, después salí yo y quedó ella con otra participante per lamentablemente mi hija menor perdió, pero fue demasiado divertida esa dinámica 😃.
Another activity—and a baby shower classic—where I came very close to winning involved estimating the size of the expectant mother's belly. Relying solely on our best guess, everyone cut a piece of string; then, to see who got it right—or at least came closest to the actual measurement—each guest had to wrap their string around the mom-to-be's waist. I was incredibly close to getting it right! 😄
>Y otra dinámica en la que estuve a punto de ganar y que es un clásico de los baby shower, es la de calcular las dimensiones del vientre de la chica embarazada, para esto, basándonos únicamente en el cálculo, cada quién cortó un trozo de pabilo, y después para comprobar quién acertó, o al menos quién se acercaba más a la dimensión real, cada invitado debía enroscar la cuerda alrededor de la cintura de la embarazada, y yo estuve muy pero muy cerca de acertar 😄
We had a truly wonderful time sharing a beautiful family moment; we offered blessings to the parents-to-be and to the baby on the way, wishing them all the best. I hope the baby is born healthy and has a beautiful, prosperous future ahead. Sending you lots of virtual kisses and hugs! 😘 🤗
