Catching up with this drawing was a mess—things kept getting tangled, and I ended up putting off the post over and over again. But here I am: a promise is a promise. I said I’d bring Stocking, and I kept my word.
Just like last time, I wanted to draw her in her own style so she could team up with her sister, because they’re not really the same without each other. Though I have to admit… Panty is my favorite.
Coloring this was a whole odyssey—just giving you a heads-up—but what matters is never giving up. You be the judge of the process below—let’s dive in!

I started with a pencil sketch of the character. First, I drew a symmetry line for the face and then another one for the body, since—as you can see—the pose has a pretty noticeable tilt.
To block out the body, I mainly used geometric shapes to get a more accurate structure, so to speak. Mostly circles and rectangles. I first built the sketch of the body, then added the clothing on top, followed by the hair, the sword, clothing details, hair details, and finally the face. From the general to the specific.

Using a black pen, I outlined the entire drawing and all its elements, then went over it with an eraser to remove the pencil sketch underneath.
The only downside was that my pen was acting up, so the base looks a bit off. But trust the process—we’ll fix it.

Using a black colored pencil, I started filling in the dress—first laying down color and then going over it with soft, consistent strokes in the same direction to avoid uneven textures.
One plus side of this drawing style is that the outlines are thick, so the shaky pen lineart doesn’t stand out as much.
I also outlined the hair.

Stocking’s hair is a bit tricky because it has several tones that, unfortunately, I couldn’t quite capture since my pencils didn’t blend well—their quality really held me back. But oh well, let’s keep going.
As we already know, I don’t really know much about color theory—I just go with my instincts. I figured her hair looked kind of like a deep blue but also had some purple in it, so the most logical thing seemed to be mixing the two. So I gently layered dark blue and then purple, bit by bit. As I mentioned, I think what made the coloring not turn out as nicely—besides the quality—was that the tones I chose were just too dark. Still, I wasn’t too disappointed with how it came out.
With my little pink pencil, I colored the highlights and inner parts of her hair.

Using the black colored pencil, I started drawing the stripes on her right stocking. Then, by layering light and dark blue, I filled in the remaining stripes between the black ones.
I also outlined the eyes and, with a very, very light touch of blue, colored in the irises.

Using light and dark blue, I also colored the bow Stocking wears in her hair and the ribbon on her dress.
With pencil, I sketched the lines on her sword, then outlined them in black and filled them in with light blue. I added a few light blue details to the handle as well.
Using black with a very gentle touch, I added some shading underneath the dress.
Using a warm brown, I added a soft layer in the areas of her skin where there’d naturally be shadow—like under her skirt or beneath her bangs.
Then I lightly went over all of her skin with pink to give it color. She has this pale, pinkish tone that looks really nice. And in the spots where the pink blended with the brown, it created some pretty interesting shadows, if you ask me.
Lastly, I went over all the areas that needed a bold outline using the black pen to boost the contrast even more.
And that’s it. Now I actually like how it turned out—especially because it’s finally being seen under the right lighting.
And here’s how the two characters look together. They’re definitely made to complement each other. I’m really proud of how it turned out, despite all the hiccups along the way—I have to admit, drawing Stocking was much harder than drawing Panty… So much so that I even forgot to add highlights to Stocking’s hair. Did you catch that? Oh well.
I really enjoyed drawing in this style—it actually reminded me of Amy and Yumi… I forgot the name of the show, but maybe you know what I mean. I think they might be the next duo I try drawing together. What do you think?

Fue un desastre intentar ponerme al día con este dibujo, realmente las cosas se me enredan y termino postergando los posts una y otra vez. Pero aquí estoy: lo prometido es deuda. Les dije que traería a Stocking y lo cumplí.
Como la vez anterior, quise dibujarla en su propio estilo, para que también hiciera dúo con su hermana, porque ellas no son lo mismo la una sin la otra. Aunque debo admitir, Panty es mi favorita…
Colorear esto fue una odisea, como spoiler, pero lo importante es nunca rendirse. Juzguen ustedes mismos el proceso a continuación, ¡vamos allá!

Comenzamos por hacer un boceto a lápiz de nuestro personaje. Comencé por hacer la línea de simetría en lo que iba a ser el rostro y luego otra para el cuerpo, porque, como podemos ver, existe una inclinación bastante pronunciada en la pose.
Luego, para bosquejar el cuerpo, yo utilicé algunas figuras geométricas, mayormente, para poder dar formas más acertadas, por decirlo de alguna manera. Formas como círculos y rectángulos en su mayoría. Primero hice una idea del bosquejo del cuerpo y luego dibujé la ropa encima, luego el cabello, su espada, los detalles de la ropa, los detalles del cabello y el rostro. De lo general a lo particular.

Con el lapicero negro, comenzamos a delinear todo el contorno del dibujo y sus elementos, para luego pasar el borrador para eliminar el grafito del boceto.
Lo único malo fue que mi lapicero estaba fallando, entonces la base se ve un poco rara. Pero, confíen en el proceso, lo arreglaremos.

Con lápiz de color negro, comenzamos a dar color al vestido. Primero coloreando y luego rellenando con trazos suaves y todos en la misma dirección, para que no se vean texturas diferentes.
Un punto positivo en este estilo de dibujo es que los contornos son gruesos, así que ya no importa tanto que el lineart del lapicero esté raro.
