What games could Inspire the Future of the holozing MMO?

After reading the recent discussion about the potential of the holozing MMO, I started thinking about something that could become very important as development continues: which existing games could inspire holozing to become a deeper and more complete MMO?
The recent progress is exciting because it suggests that holozing could eventually connect many of the systems that already exist around the project: creatures, healers, professions, crafting, exploration, PvE, PvP and an economy connected to the Hive ecosystem.
The interesting part is that holozing doesn't need to reinvent every MMO mechanic from scratch. There are many successful games that have already demonstrated what works.

Pokémon (captain obvious)
The first and most obvious inspiration is Pokémon.
The appeal of collecting creatures, discovering new ones and building a team is already strongly connected to the identity of holozing. But an MMO could take this concept much further.
Imagine discovering a rare Zing while exploring a dangerous area, then having to decide whether to capture it, trade it, train it or use it as part of your combat strategy.
The important difference would be that this happens inside a persistent online world populated by other players.
Palworld: the most interesting
Palworld is another fascinating reference.

One of the things that made Palworld stand out was the way creatures became part of a broader survival and exploration experience rather than existing exclusively for battles.
This concept could work extremely well with holozing.
Zings could potentially become companions during exploration, help with gathering resources or participate in different activities connected to professions and crafting.
That would make creatures feel like actual inhabitants of the world rather than simply collectibles.
World of Warcraft: Building a Living World
When talking about MMOs, World of Warcraft is almost impossible to ignore.
Its biggest lesson isn't necessarily combat. It's the importance of creating a world that gives players reasons to return.

---
Cities, quests, dungeons, guilds, events, bosses and social interaction can turn a game into something players feel they actually inhabit.
For holozing, this could mean creating regions with unique creatures, resources and challenges, while giving players reasons to travel between different areas.
The world itself could become part of the progression system.

RuneScape: Professions and Long-Term Progression
RuneScape offers another interesting idea: giving players things to do beyond fighting.
Fishing, mining, crafting and other skills can become meaningful progression systems.
This fits particularly well with the holozing concept because professions and crafting are already part of the project's broader vision.
---
---
A player might specialize in gathering resources, another could focus on crafting equipment, while someone else could concentrate on combat or trading.
That kind of specialization could create a much more dynamic player economy.
The Elder Scrolls Online Exploration and Story
The Elder Scrolls Online could provide another useful source of inspiration, particularly when it comes to exploration.
A holozing MMO with different regions, environmental storytelling, hidden locations and quests could make exploration feel rewarding even when players aren't actively searching for loot.
---
---
This could also help expand the lore of holozing and give players reasons to care about the world beyond its mechanics.
The Most interesting possibility
Perhaps the biggest opportunity isn't copying any single game.
It is combining different ideas.
Pokémon could provide the creature-collecting foundation. Palworld could inspire the relationship between creatures and an open world. World of Warcraft could provide the MMO structure and social systems. RuneScape could inspire professions and long-term progression, while The Elder Scrolls Online could demonstrate how exploration and storytelling can make a world feel alive.
And this is where the current MMO development becomes particularly interesting.
