A Blood Hymn For Edmund.

At a burnt church, I encountered a worshipper named Saint Aelfwyn participating in the "A Blood Hymn for Edmund" world event. After a tense conversation about the surrounding corpses, Aelfwyn attacked me.

I stumbled upon a world event named A Blood Hymn for Edmund right outside the ruins of a burnt church. Standing in front of a towering wooden cross, a lone woman was kneeling and praying to what she believed was her deity.

I walked up to speak with her, asking if she was responsible for the slaughtered corpses scattered across the ground. She denied doing it herself, claiming her god carried out the killings, while dropping unsettling insults against traditional beliefs.

I originally came over thinking I might soothe or assist her, but she suddenly drew her weapon and lunged at me without warning. She was attacking aggressively before realizing who she was up against.

I intentionally held back for a moment and let her land a couple of hits, figuring I would let her feel accomplished before ending the fight.

The moment I retaliated, I realized I had completely misjudged her strength. She moved with incredible speed, dodging my heavy swings and delivering rapid, high-damage counter-attacks that turned this into a unexpectedly tough duel.

After taking a fair amount of damage and carefully timing my dodges against her fatal strikes, I finally brought her health down. As she collapsed onto the dirt, she gasped out one last cryptic, meaningless message before dying.

With the area secured, I walked toward the cross to investigate the altar. I picked up a scattered note alongside her offerings, which identified her as Saint Aelfwyn, a self-proclaimed "Hammer of the Heathens" who left bloody gifts for her dark god.

That's all for now.
