Rethinking justice for child offender's

The behaviour and character of every person you see is a byproduct of their family and, by extension, their environment, and this is also the same for children.
A large part of a child's character is influenced by the things they see and hear and the family as well as their environment. It is largely responsible for this, and that's why the Bible also tells us to train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.
Now when it comes to child crimes and the issue of trying them, there are some factors I would like to consider.
There are two scenarios I would like to paint firstly: there's a crime that could be caused by panic, and in this case a minor may act based on instincts due to fear of the particular outcome coming from the situation.
And the second is a minor who is just mischievous and likes to harm people for fun or do something against the law because of the benefits they might get. This might also be related to the background of the child; maybe they come from a poor home or an abusive home.
A few factors to consider when trying minors for crime could be what triggered the action, do they have the tendency to carry out this crime again, or are they being out to do it? What are the gravity and effects of the crime? Was it carefully planned, or was it impulsive? Can the kid be helped?
Let's not forget that the brain of a minor is not fully developed yet, so whatever they feed on (see/consume) will also shape them.
Once we have established the factory, then a suitable punishment can be given for maybe putting such a child in a child correction facility with access to learning that will help shape their thoughts from crime; they could be grounded in the family basement or grand their phones to make them realise that actions have consequences.
They could also be grounded from going out or socialising with their friends for a period and that can make some truly remorseful cause restricting minors from their friends as a way of discipline can help them realise their mistakes fast cause at that stage they want to be in company of their friends.
Also, they could be made to partake in community service more, like fixing what's broken. This can help a minor realise that the litter they put back into the world can make a difference.
One important reason why I haven't mentioned putting them in adult prisons is the fact that when you take them there the get to mix with different people the good the bad the ugly and that can put a stigma on them and make the resign to a life of crime.
Depending on the gravity of the crime committed, minors could be put in a minor's prison, and if they show no sign of improvement or willingness to refrain from crime, they could be left to come of age before sending them to an adult prison to avoid abuse in prison.
In a nutshell, the level of punishment for a minor should be determined by the level of crime committed. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
