Hello everyone, welcome to my blog.
Political election of leaders is a very crucial point in every country that runs the democratic system of government, starting with indication of interest by various candidates and then purchasing forms to become eligible to contest.
The process moves on to party primaries and then general elections; now the issue of voting for the right candidate has become one of the biggest issues, especially in my part of the world because some candidates are wolves in sheep's clothing.
They do everything humanly possible during the campaign and win people's hearts, and when they become elected, they siphon money to foreign accounts and divert national projects to fund personal interests, and the list goes on and on.
I believe that the campaign period is the best time to know the intent and intentions of candidates because it is also a time when you can check their track records of integrity in previous years.
The sad reality, like I said before, is most of the politicians sell themselves so well to the masses that they literally buy the narrative, and then when they get into office, everything they do keeps the masses impoverished.
Some other politicians get thugs to rig elections, and others go out of their way distributing funds through their agents for votes, and thereafter they just go to government house and waste four years of people's lives.
Man is a social entity, and a lot of times the problem is because only a few people are standing for what is right; a lot of people always tend to switch sides because of the instant gratification they will receive as cash or in the form of palliatives to vote.
And because a lot of times the right candidates believe in the transparency of the system, they tend to lose out because the so-called wrong person will go out of their way to bribe whoever to make sure they get the job. What they desire is power.
So the first time I voted, I went a bit late towards the end of the election and got accredited, and while I was waiting for my turn to go and cast my vote, there were people stationed for one of the political parties who were trying to convince people to vote for their candidate with some cash at hand as benefits for voting.
After the election results here, everyone knows that candidate actually emerged as the president, but guess what? Things changed so dramatically that the people who even collected money began to ask them, "The money you collected, is it enough to spend for the next 4 years?"
I believe strongly that people know the right thing to do or the author has just failed to do it, and since that's the case, then we need to have people like religious leaders pointing out to their followers who to vote for because often times those religious leaders have the best interests of their congregation at heart.
