Thw dangers of being hot tempered

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog.
There's something about being hot-tempered, and that's the fact that you don't think about the consequences of your actions before carrying out your actions, and many times it ends in regret.
Growing up as a young boy, I had this hot temper in me, and it made me do some silly things, which I barely got away with because I was still young, and one of the things I did back then I can remember: I was slamming my sister's finger because she was trying to follow me when I was sent on an errand and I was angry.
When I was a teenager too, incidents happened between me and my younger sister, and after my dad had cautioned me, I had to rethink the way I acted and had a change of mind.
In the first incident, my sister was in the kitchen frying plantains. We had been told not to take any plantain until she was done, but I reluctantly went there and took some, so she put the hot spoon in my hand. This made me get so angry that I threw a fork at her, which injured her fingers badly.
The second incident happened such that we argued over something, and the next thing I did was just hold her and stand our ground, and in that instant her shin got bruised when she fell on the rug.
My dad simply asked me to take her to the nearest chemist shop where she would be treated, and I was going to sort the bill, and as at that time I had no work and no money, I had to beg, so my dad paid the bill, but he made me promise I was never going to hurt my sister again or anyone else. You made a promise, which I have kept since then.
What is realized is whatever weakness anyone has can be worked upon because, like I said before, one thing about hot-tempered people is the fact that they don't think about the consequences of their actions before they do them.
Imagine a man getting so angry with his wife up to the point of beating her to death, and then the same man is asking for mercy. It's not possible because he didn't think of the consequences of these actions before he carried them out.
A hot-tempered person gets angry very easily, and when they do, two things happen: either they speak words that can hurt people or they take actions that they will regret later.
The aftermath is always regret for actions that were taken or words that were spoken.
One thing is certain: when a person is hot-tempered and it takes rash decisions to the point of costing how work the Lord will take it because they cannot be excused for the fun that they were tempered.
For me, I think it was easy to contain because I was still young when it was found, and you know, scripture says to train up a child in the ways going in his direction and not depart from them, and that's one way to handle a hot temper from when the person is growing up because they will definitely show signs while they are young.
Another way of handling it is through therapy sessions, knowing what triggers it and how to avoid and gain control over such things.
This is my take on how a hot temper can be contained and managed. Thanks for stopping by.
