When I go to take my pills every morning, I end up thinking of you when I see the mushroom on the label. You just brought this supplement home one day and said it would be good for me. I like mushrooms, even the funny kinds I used to get when I was in my teens. But I am off track again. These do not have that affect, but I take them daily and go and get more when I am running low.
When you tell me it is something good for me, I have no reason to doubt your motivation. You are not out to harm me in any way and so I just take your advice and trust. That is what family members do. There have been times that your information was less trustworthy than you had said, but I cover the part about grace for loved ones below.
There is a rule that is worth living by; Trust and respect everyone to a certain extent until they prove that they do not deserve trust and respect. Think I mentioned before that strangers can lose respect very quickly and family and loved ones get a lot more grace. That said, there are on occasion family members who act come to visit with much pomp and usually earn a trip to the door before long. You inherited Alaska, the large puppy, from one of those family members who leaves much in their wake when they leave angry. News, I handled finding a home for her and she has saved the little old lady way out in the suburbs. She has barked and chased off several would be thieves. in a bad way that lead you astray or into trouble and they do it on a consistent basis.
Your name also appeared when we headed into a new month and I see the day marking a quarter years staring at me in a couple weeks. There are many situations where dads are not supposed to chase their kids out into the world when they assert their age and freedom to go out and make their way.
It doesn't matter how long you stay away, you will need to repair what you broke before you come to me for help. I hope you get the chance to do that. Sometimes people wait too long and suddenly it becomes impossible. Still if you do come to me in an emergency, you will need to talk and fix the problem before I entertain your request. It will not be one of those times where your need is urgent and I am asked to help first, with a promise of reconciliation. I raised you all with the attitude that every minute counts. You were priority before I commit to meetings or other plans with friends. There was never a time when I was not there for you.
