Glorious and beautiful morning to you all, and happy new month! This is my very first post here, and I’m excited to be part of this wonderful community. Wishing everyone a month filled with joy, success, and endless blessings.

This is a fitted (shaped) Ankara gown with a neat V front trimming design, decorated sleeve edge, and side pocket. Follow this step carefully for a clean, professional finish and you will achieve the same thing.

Let's get started let me take you to the process of the cutting and sewing

Measurements Used Shoulder: 15 Bust: 35 Waist length: 16 Waist: 31 Empire line: 23 Hip: 38 Full length: 57 Sleeve length: 13 Round sleeve: 13/12

Drafting the Pattern Step 1. Basic Body Draft

Mark full length 57 inches From shoulder, mark: Waist length: 16 inches Empire line: 23 inches

Step2. Horizontal Measurements (Divide by 4 + ease) Bust: 35 ÷ 4 = 8.75 + 1 inch ease = 9.75 inches Waist: 31 ÷ 4 = 7.75 + 1 inch ease = 8.75 inches Hip: 38 ÷ 4 = 9.5 + 1 inch ease = 10.5 inches Shape the dress from bust → waist → hip to get a fitted look.

Step3. Shoulder & Neckline Shoulder: 7.5 inches on fold Neck width: 3 inches Front neck depth: 5–6 inches (V shape later) Back neck depth: 1.5 inches Shoulder slope: 1.5 inches

Cutting the Pieces Cut front and back separately

Add zip allowance (1–1.5 inches) to the back Cut lining using same pattern

Cut sleeves: Length: 13 inches Round sleeve: 13/12 (loose fit)

Front V Trimming Design After drafting, measure 14 inches down from shoulder Use chalk to draw a clean V-shape on the front bodice Take your ½ inch trimming (lace) Sewing the V Design: Place trimming along the chalk line Sew slowly, following the V shape neatly Ensure both sides are equal and sharp at the center point Press lightly after sewing for a flat finish.

Sleeve Design with Trimming From sleeve edge, measure 4 inches upward Draw a straight guideline Begin placing your trimming around the sleeve in a round form Sewing: Attach trimming carefully along the line Make sure spacing is even

Sewing the Dress Step 1:Lining Attachment To the front and back and sleeve to the main fabric. Ensure the V area sits flat and clean

Step 2 Join Shoulder Sew front and back at the shoulder Iron flat

Step 3. Attach Sleeves Fix sleeves into armhole Sew round neatly

Step 4. Sew Side Seams + Pocket Before closing sides, insert side pocket: Mark pocket position around hip level Attach pocket pieces to both front and back.

Back Zipper Insert a center back zipper neatly Use regular zipper method Ensure alignment at waist and hip

✅ Final Finishing Trim loose threads Press the entire dress Ensure shaping is smooth and fitted
