By My Brother’s Side: Through Accident, Surgery, and the Unbreakable Brotherhood

Hello everyone!

Today, I am writing this story with a worried heart but also with gratitude.

My brother is currently admitted here at Sultan Kudarat Provincial Hospital in our province. He met an accident that injured his leg, and now he is scheduled for an operation. It is not easy to see someone you love lying in a hospital bed, waiting for surgery. As a sister, I cannot help but worry and pray for him every day.

But in the middle of this difficult situation, I am also thankful. I am proud of the service here at Sultan Kudarat Provincial Hospital, especially because of the zero-billing assistance. Knowing that we do not have to worry too much about hospital bills gives our family one less burden to carry.

The hospital is big and has wonderful amenities. Of course, because there are many patients, some are even staying on beds along the hallways and other available spaces. It reminds me how many families are also facing their own struggles. Still, we are grateful because we are being cared for, and we have a place where my brother can receive treatment.

Accidents are something we cannot always prevent. They can happen unexpectedly and change our plans in just one moment.

That is why I decided to stay and take care of my brother. My sister-in-law has a small baby, and she is not used to dealing with hospital processes like this. Honestly, baka mauna pa siyang himatayin sa dami ng pasyente so I decided to assist him.

And this experience made me realize something deeper about siblings.

Sibling love is really through thick and thin. Kapag may nangyari sa kapatid mo, iba talaga ang concern, kaba, at pag-aalala. Kahit may sarili tayong responsibilities, when our sibling needs us, we somehow find the strength to be there.

To my brother, please stay strong. Your family is here for you. We are praying for a successful operation and a quick recovery. One step at a time, one prayer at a time.

To everyone reading my story, thank you for taking the time to read and share this moment with me.

This is my own photo, edited in Canva, and this story comes from my own experience.

Have a nice day!
