As soon as the Mongolian soldiers left Yarikawa, the siege machines outside the city started firing huge fireballs one after another. Each fireball entered Yarikawa and exploded, setting everything around it on fire. I understood why the Mongols had suddenly left the city. They were trying to destroy Yarikawa from a distance.
We had to stop those siege machines at any cost. Otherwise, it would be impossible to hold the city for long. So, Jin Sakai decided to take care of the problem himself. The siege machines were located on a mountain, reaching there was not easy. A Mongolian camp had been set up in front of Yarikawa, so I had to fight my way through the camp. The entire area was in the middle of a battle, so there was no way to simply walk past all the soldiers.
Most of the Mongolian soldiers were busy shooting arrows, which made things easier for me. I moved behind them and used assassination kills. When stealth was not an option, I fought them directly. Sometimes four or five enemies surrounded me at once, but I used my Ghost Weapons, Smoke Bombs, and Kunai to deal with them. Because of these tools, the fight was not so difficult.
After clearing my way, I finally reached the top of the mountain. I first killed the soldiers operating the siege machines and then destroyed both machines. I thought the danger was finally over, but I was wrong.
While I was busy destroying the siege machines, the Mongols had already entered Yarikawa and started attacking the innocent people. I rushed back to the city. I avoided fighting as much as possible. I used ropes and rooftops to stay out of sight and quietly moved through the area.
A group of Mongol soldiers was guarding the bridge leading into Yarikawa. I had no choice but to attack them. Before they could even understand what was happening, I performed a Chain Assassination and took down all four of them. Then I entered the city.
The situation inside Yarikawa was terrible. Many defenders had already been killed, and the Mongols were attacking innocent people. I rescued as many civilians as I could before entering the stronghold, where General Temuge was waiting for me.
Temuge attacked me. Khotun Khan had placed a huge reward on the Ghost's head, and Temuge was determined to claim it.
The duel began. This time, I did not make the same mistake as before. I switched to Wind Stance because it works very well against shielded enemies. Temuge was a powerful fighter. I perfectly parried the attacks I could, dodged the unblockable ones, and counterattacked when I found an opportunity.
After an intense fight, I used a Heavenly Strike that completely drained the remaining health from Temuge. Finally, I defeated him.
As their leader was dead, the Mongolian soldiers began to lose their courage. We chased them out of Yarikawa. Once the Mongols were gone, Jin stood before the people and asked them to stand together and fight against the invaders.
At first, the people were still unsure. But then Taka and Yuna stood beside Jin and reminded everyone that if they did not fight back today, the Mongols would return tomorrow.
After hearing these powerful words, the people of Yarikawa finally accepted Jin as their leader. They were now ready to stand with the Ghost and fight for their home.
