When I reached the last book in the Wallflowers series, I felt a little sad, because these girls had become my friends 💐 They kept me company for days, and with each of their stories, I laughed, cried, fell in love, and felt so much empathy. But at the same time, I also wanted to reach the end; I wanted to see all my beloved Wallflowers find their own love stories ✨
This conclusion was sweet, fun, and passionate, just like its protagonist, Daisy Bowman 🌼, but it also had that little touch of mystery and seriousness that Matthew Swift brings 🖤
Daisy is a character you grow fond of from the very beginning thanks to her outgoing, dreamy, and eloquent personality. That’s why I had high expectations for her story. I wanted the most romantic and dreamy of the Wallflowers to have a love worthy of her… and, fortunately, that’s exactly what happened 💛
Al llegar al último libro de las Wallflowers me sentí un poco triste, porque estas chicas se convirtieron en mis amigas 💐 Me acompañaron durante días y, con cada una de sus historias, reí, lloré, me enamoré y sentí muchísima empatía. Pero, al mismo tiempo, también quería llegar al final; quería ver a todas mis preciadas Wallflowers encontrar su propia historia de amor ✨
Este cierre fue dulce, divertido y apasionado, igual que su protagonista, Daisy Bowman 🌼, pero también tuvo ese pequeño toque de misterio y seriedad que aporta Matthew Swift 🖤

I felt a special affection for her because, in a way, I identified with her so much. Although within my family I’m more like Lillian—the older sister who argues about everything and always has something to say 😅🔥—in other settings I’m much more like Daisy. I’m very focused on my books, my stories, and my fantasy worlds, rather than the real world.
I take what I need from reality: work, responsibilities, socializing… but as soon as I can, I return to my little world🤍 To a book, a TV series—because Daisy would definitely be the type to binge-watch—or even to my phone, watching videos without interacting with anyone. Just observing the world around me, without really participating in it.
And while the other three Wallflowers found their partners—devoted men completely in love with them—Daisy was left behind. Not because her friends excluded her, but because they were already in a different stage of their lives. And honestly… I’ve felt that way about the people around me, too. That’s why, when I started her book, I felt an immediate empathy for her 🥺

Vivo muy enfocada en mis libros, mis historias y mis mundos de fantasía, más que en el mundo real.
De la realidad tomo lo necesario: trabajo, responsabilidades, socializar… pero apenas puedo, vuelvo a mi pequeño mundo🤍 A un libro, una serie —porque Daisy definitivamente sería de las que hacen maratones—, o incluso a mi teléfono viendo videos sin interactuar con nadie. Solo observando el mundo a mi alrededor, sin participar realmente en él.
Y mientras las otras tres Wallflowers encontraron a sus parejas, hombres devotos y completamente enamorados de ellas, Daisy fue quedándose atrás. No porque sus amigas la excluyeran, sino porque ellas ya estaban en otra etapa de sus vidas. Y honestamente… yo también me he sentido así con la gente a mi alrededor. Por eso, cuando empecé su libro, sentí una empatía inmediata hacia ella 🥺

My sweet Daisy and I share the same problem with men: we’ve read too much 😂 We’ve spent so much time lost in our fantasies that few real men seem interesting enough or worthy of reaching for them. But at the same time, Daisy kept dreaming that her chance would come. She cared for, supported, and celebrated her friends and her sister in the previous stories, and while she was happy for them, she also longed for love of her own. She didn’t want to just watch romance from afar✨ She is totally “The Prophecy ” by Taylor Swift.
And something I really loved was that Daisy didn’t really need to “grow up.” She would always be a dreamer, an idealist, and a romantic, and there was nothing wrong with that 🌷 All she needed was someone who could ground her in reality when necessary, without stifling or limiting her. And that’s exactly what Matthew Swift was 🖤
There’s a quote from Daisy that I underlined because I feel it perfectly captures her essence:

Mi dulce Daisy y yo compartimos el mismo problema con los hombres: hemos leído demasiado 😂 Hemos pasado tanto tiempo refugiadas en nuestras fantasías que pocos hombres reales parecen suficientemente interesantes o dignos de alcanzarlas. Pero, al mismo tiempo, Daisy seguía soñando con que llegara su oportunidad. Ella cuidó, apoyó y celebró a sus amigas y a su hermana en las historias anteriores, y aunque era feliz por ellas, también deseaba un amor propio. No quería limitarse a contemplar el romance desde lejos✨ Ella es completamente “The Prophecy” de Taylor Swift.

After several seasons in England, Daisy was still single. And not because she lacked suitors, exactly. The problem was that Daisy knew exactly what she wanted. She was a dreamer, yes, but also very specific and demanding. Since she wasn’t desperate to marry quickly, she could afford the small luxury—which many women of the time didn’t have—of turning down proposals and simply saying, “No.”
And then the candidate chosen by her father appears: Matthew Swift 🖤
Bowman’s right-hand man in business. A pragmatic, serious, observant man who is completely devoted to his work. Basically, the complete opposite of Daisy. And of course, you think: “Ah, perfect, here comes the enemies-to-lovers trope.” But not exactly 👀✨

I was fascinated by the way he observes Daisy, how he notices every little detail about her, and how he understands things that others overlook.
