As Christians, we have an obligation to serve God wholeheartedly with everything He has given us, despite the devil’s resistance.
EXODUS 5 Afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go…. And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.” [vs. 1–2].
God so much desires that we serve Him more faithfully and completely than ever before, remembering that everything we possess, our life, time, resources and abilities, came from Him in the first place.
From the text, Pharaoh represents the enemy who wants children of God to serve God partially. But as a true child of God, you must decide to go all in with your devotion and obedience. Pharaoh attempted to limit Israel’s worship by offering a compromise: “And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed…” [Exodus 10: 24].
But Moses refused to serve God halfway.
