Today was a day of tears, songs, and sweet memories. We laid to rest a great man of God, a father, a mentor, and a shepherd, Late Rev. Michael N. Okon.
It was not just a burial. It was a celebration of a life well lived, a life that touched thousands and pointed many to Christ.
A Glorious Exit The day began with a solemn procession. The brass band led the way with hymns, and pallbearers in matching red and yellow attire carried the casket with honor.

The banner behind said it all: GLORIOUS EXIT. For us in the faith, death is not the end. It is a transition to glory, and today we celebrated that truth.
A Final Goodbye Inside the beautifully decorated hall, family, friends, and church members gathered for one last look. The casket was white with gold handles, surrounded by white flowers and soft lights. It was peaceful, and it reflected the kind of man Rev. Okon was, pure, gentle, and full of grace.

You could feel the love in the room. People stood quietly, some praying, some shedding tears, and others sharing stories of how Rev. Okon had counseled them, prayed for them, and lifted them up.
Remembering His Legacy Outside under the canopy, the atmosphere was different, it was praise, remembrance, and thanksgiving. Many came dressed in white, a symbol of purity and hope in resurrection.

His portrait was carried with pride. Women in beautiful ankara and lace, children, and elders all came together. Even in grief, there was joy because we know where he is, in the presence of the Lord he served so faithfully.
A memorial table was also set up with his big portrait, flowers, and candles. It was a place where many stopped to reflect and pray.

Final Thoughts Rev. Michael N. Okon lived for God and for people. He preached with passion, loved with sincerity, and served until the end. Today we cried, but we also rejoiced because his labor was not in vain.
To the family, we say: be strong. The Lord who called him home will comfort you. To the church, let us continue the work he started.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15.
Rest well, our brother in the Lord. Until we meet again on resurrection morning.
