La dignidad es como el Sol de nuestras vidas, su ausencia conllevaría a una oscuridad total, donde la madre naturaleza perdería su esencia y su maravillosa gama de colores. Por tanto, la dignidad constituye el tesoro más valioso de la existencia humana.

SIN AMOR PROPIO NO HAY DIGNIDAD.
En mi opinión, considero que la dignidad se encuentra fundida en un abrazo apretado con el amor propio. Quien permite que le humillen, o sea capaz de humillarse por algún motivo, es un ser sin dignidad.
Es tan elevado el valor que posee esta, que uno de los más grandes pensadores, para mí el supremo : José Martí, dijo que la ley primera de la república es el respeto a la dignidad plena del hombre; o sea al derecho de pensar y actuar según sus propias concepciones.

DE LA DIGNIDAD A LA VIRTUD.
Las virtudes deben tener como base a la dignidad, sin ella ninguna persona puede considerarse virtuosa, pues se desvanecería todo lo valioso. Resultaría ser como un frágil cascarón cubriendo un inmenso vacío.
Conviene entonces, prestar especial atención, tanto a la dignidad como a la virtud, ya que lo que se cultiva durante mucho tiempo, puede desmoronarse con una sorprendente inmediatez. Dijo Martí (en Apuntes): " nada muere sin convulsiones, solo a veces la virtud.

WITHOUT SELF-LOVE, THERE IS NO DIGNITY.
In my view, dignity is inextricably bound to self-love. Anyone who allows themselves to be humiliated—or who is capable of humiliating themselves for any reason—is a person devoid of dignity.
Its value is so profound that one of the greatest thinkers—and, to me, the supreme one—José Martí, stated that the fundamental law of the republic is respect for the full dignity of the human being; that is, the right to think and act according to one's own convictions.
