Caminando entre nidos de tortugas marinas en Playa el Agua [ESP-ENG]

Hola, amigos de @hivemargarita Espero que estén teniendo una excelente semana.
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes parte de lo que fue mi caminata matutina. A mí me encanta empezar el día respirando el aire de la playa y es que además de vivir muy cerca, es mi lugar favorito para conectar con la naturaleza. En la actualidad estoy aprovechando las vacaciones ya que cuando comience a trabajar mi horario de entrada al trabajo es a las 7:00am justo a la misma hora que siempre camino.
Pero bueno sin animos de lamentos hoy quiero contarles que Playa el Agua es un espacio que además de su belleza, tiene una energía única y muy especial.
Hoy mientras caminaba por la orilla, noté que la playa está llena de pequeños nidos de tortugas marinas perfectamente identificados. Cada uno de ellos tiene un cartelito detallado con la fecha exacta en la que la madre desovó y la posible fecha de anidación o nacimiento. También está un vivero mucho más grande que es donde llevan a todos los huevos que de cierta forma corren algún tipo de peligro y ahí son resguardado. Ver esa hilera de nidos custodiados en la arena es una imagen que te recuerda lo afortunados que somos de vivir en esta isla.
No puedo dejar de admirar el trabajo tan bonito y valioso que hacen los proteccionistas de tortugas marinas en Margarita. Su labor es titánica y muy necesaria; se encargan de vigilar y cuidar estos nidos día y noche para asegurar que no sean violentados ni por la mano humana ni por los animales de la zona. Gracias a su constancia, miles de tortuguitas tienen una oportunidad real de llegar al mar.
En muchas oportunidades anteriores, he tenido la fortuna de coincidir con las liberaciones y ver a las pequeñitas correr hacia las olas. Es una experiencia demasiado bonita que te deja impactada. Aunque últimamente no hemos podido coincidir con los horarios de liberación, el simple hecho de caminar al lado de esos nidos y saber que están protegidos me da una paz increíble.
Si están en la isla o visitan Playa el Agua, los invito a caminar con cuidado, observar este maravilloso trabajo y sobre todo, respetar el espacio de estas especies que eligen nuestras playas para nacer. Muchas gracias amigos por leerme y por apoyar siempre las vivencias de nuestra bella isla.

Today I want to share with you a bit of what my morning walk was like. I love starting the day by breathing in the beach air—not only do I live very close by, but it’s also my favorite place to connect with nature. Right now I’m making the most of my vacation because once I go back to work, my shift starts at 7:00 a.m.—exactly the same time I always go for my walk.
But anyway, without wanting to sound like I’m complaining, today I want to tell you that Playa el Agua is a place that, in addition to its beauty, has a unique and very special energy.
Today, as I was walking along the shore, I noticed that the beach is full of small, clearly marked sea turtle nests. Each one has a small, detailed sign with the exact date the mother laid her eggs and the estimated hatching or birth date. There’s also a much larger nursery where they take all the eggs that are in some way at risk, and they’re kept safe there. Seeing that row of protected nests in the sand is a sight that reminds you just how lucky we are to live on this island.
I can’t help but admire the beautiful and valuable work done by the sea turtle conservationists in Margarita. Their work is monumental and essential; they monitor and care for these nests day and night to ensure they aren’t disturbed—neither by human hands nor by local wildlife. Thanks to their dedication, thousands of baby turtles have a real chance of reaching the sea.
On many previous occasions, I’ve been lucky enough to be there for the releases and watch the little ones run toward the waves. It’s such a beautiful experience that leaves you in awe. Although lately we haven’t been able to make it during the release times, just walking past those nests and knowing they’re protected gives me an incredible sense of peace.
If you’re on the island or visiting Playa el Agua, I invite you to walk carefully, observe this wonderful work, and above all, respect the space of these species that choose our beaches to hatch.
