The smell of rain

The petrichor doesn't just hit my nose, rather it rewires my entire nervous system.
A sudden, cinematic burst of ozone and wet earth that feels less like a scent and more like a core memory being aggressively downloaded into my brain.
It is my ultimate atmospheric reset button, where the sharp, metallic crispness of lightning collides with the warm, dusty exhale of a parched pavement finally getting its closure.
I inhale and suddenly I'm transported.
Feeling the collective relief of a world that was holding its breath.
A smell so heavy with nostalgia and fresh starts that it makes me want to cancel all my plans, stare out a window, and think about every choice that brought me to this exact, rain-soaked second.
