Hello, street art fans! As usual, I’ve got a new discovery for you, and this one is in Barquisimeto, Venezuela.
As part of the Ciudad Mural art project in the village of Santa Rosa, I went to see and admire the murals and mosaics that many local artists have created on the old houses there, transforming the streets into an open-air art gallery where the houses have become canvases.
And one of them is the one I’m showing you today, which I personally loved for its simplicity but also for what it represents to me: a smiling girl wearing a traditional hat, holding a cuatro an instrument that is very representative of our national music and culture
It also depicts our national bird, the turpial, blending into the turquoise and yellow background, which highlights the chiaroscuro technique used by this artist, who delicately wrote Venezuela in cursive. Beautiful!
I always enjoy seeing murals like this one that depict stories, culture and, above all, identity.
Thanks to the Venezuelan artist and muralist Droik, who has created this mural that conveys a deep-rooted cultural identity through key elements such as folklore, music and nature. Excellent work!

Hola amigos de streetart como de costumbre les traigo un nuevo hallazgo y está es en Barquisimeto, Venezuela.
Cómo parte del proyecto artístico Ciudad Mural situado en el pueblo de Santa Rosa fui a conocer y contemplar murales y mosaicos que muchos artistas locales plasmaron en las casas antiguas de esta localidad transformando las calles en un galería de arte al aire libre, dónde las casas se convirtieron en lienzo.
Y uno de ellos es este que hoy les muestro, que en los personal me encanto por su sencillez pero también por lo que me refleja, una niña sonriente con un sombrero tradicional, sosteniendo un cuatro un instrumento muy representativo de nuestra música y cultural nacional
También muestra a nuestra ave nacional el turpial fusionandose con el fondo turquesa y amarillo que resalta la técnica claroscuro que esté artista uso, que con delicadeza escribio Venezuela en letras cursivas. ¡Hermoso!
Siempre me gusta ver esos murales que muestren historias, cultura y sobretodo e identidad como este.
Gracias al artista y muralista venezolano Droik quien nos trajo este mural que transmite arraigo cultural a través de los elementos principales como lo es el folclore, la música y la naturaleza. Exelente trabajo!
