Hello, good morning or afternoon, my dear Praetorian comrades.
A post to share my battle against the most powerful fighter of the Pit Challenge, Eagle Libre.

Pit Challenge: Eagle Libre
--- ---
Since Luz's Favor Roulette came out, I've faced the Pit Challenge fighters a total of four times, counting the one in this post. Being defeated in the first battle against The Big Leronski, for which I was not prepared and did not have the knowledge about the fighters, after that battle I took things easy. My next battles against AI the Mountain and rematch against The Big Leronski resulted in a victory.
It's been many days since roulette allowed me to face another fighter, but I can finally share with you my battle against Eagle Libre.
----
As everyone already knows, the matches against these fighters vary, they present different skills and statistics. Free Eagle had the following stats and skills shown in the picture.
|Phase|Shield|Void Armor| |------------|------------|------------| | | | | | Magic attacks have the same chance of failing as physical attacks. | 50% less damage (rounded up) from physical attacks or 0 damage from physical attacks of 1 power. | Magic damage hits armor before health. |
----
My formation for this battle is as follows:
|Name|Image| |------------|------------| |Aurendrak| | |Spellmonger| | |Gorm the Vengeful| | | Buns the Unseen | | | Vaelok| | |Necrulencian Thief| | |Little Sister| |
I thought about using Spellmonger to wear down some Eagle attacks, while taking the attacks from my other units. But the main basis of my strategy was in the last three units: Vaelok and Little Sister with their magic attack would damage him in each round and at the same time gain vitality with each attack; Necrulencian Thief had the objective of poisoning him. Having two units with good vitality or armor in first positions to withstand Eagle attacks.

---
Round 1. Spellmonger fulfilled his first task, to withstand an attack and reduce his armor a little with the thorns. Vaelok slightly reduced his melee attack power. The first attacks of my units would only reduce the armor. Only Necrulencian Thief managed to leave Eagle Free poisoned; this would allow to reduce his vitality little by little in each round.
---
Round 2 and 3. Spellmonger was defeated at the start of the second round, but that extra damage was enough to destroy Eagle's armor in this round.
Gorm the Vengeful, although he lost his armor, was the first to deal direct damage to Eagle in the third round; the attacks of the other units followed. Vaelok and Little Sister started to gain vitality by dealing direct damage in this round.
---
Round 4 and 5. Gorm the Vengeful survived another attack in the fourth round, but the wave of attacks of the third round was repeated, weakening Eagle a little more.
The fifth round was the defeat of Gorm the Vengeful, but before his fall he attacked Eagle first. The other units attacked and only Vaelok's attack failed.
----
Round 6 and 7. Buns the Unseen took the lead in the first position; having a strong armor, he could withstand several attacks before being defeated. In these two rounds, Buns the Unseen only lost the armor and neither failed their attack against Eagle.
So far, Eagle's vitality has already been reduced by fifty points.
----
Round 8 and 9. Buns the Unseen dealt another attack and was defeated in the eighth round. Vaelok replaced him in the first position; although another attack failed, he had the ability to fly and a great vitality to withstand some attacks.
At the end of the ninth round, Eagle had only fourteen life points left and was still facing three powerful units.
----
Round 10 and 11. The effect of the poison kept reducing Eagle's vitality at the beginning of the round, to then receive the attacks of Little Sister, Necrulencian Thief and Vaelok until his defeat.
---
I had some doubts with the training at the beginning, such as spending a position using Spellmonger; there may have been better options, but I don't regret it.
My strategy was right; the poison effect from the first round opened the way to defeat Eagle and two flying magic units that gained vitality with each attack; for me they were an excellent choice for the battle formation. With good support from Gorm the Vengeful and Buns the Unseen, who survived three rounds each, this helped the last units a lot.
