eCig saga continues - no luck!

I went to the tobacconist this afternoon and they had a couple of refillable eCigs, one at 12.50euro and one at 39.95euro, being the cheapskate I am I went for the cheaper one, big mistake!
It's actually called 'VooPoo', the name is apt!
The vape just tastes burnt! I ran the liquid through the old Veev eCig and tastes fine, gorgeous. Admittedly I prefer the Veev Blueberry cartridge to the DEA 'romance' which was supposed to be fruits of the forest - I think. Honestly the only issue I have with the Veev is the price of the cartridges at 4euro but is way nicer and easier to use than the VooPoo
It was lucky I had a cable as didn't come with one!
I bought a pack of replacement coils, another 9euro, seriously wish I'd bought the more expensive vaporiser - assuming it had a variable temperature controller which is what I suspect the issue is, running too hot?
I'll see how my wallet feels the next time I'm in town, spent way too much on eCigs over the last 2 weeks!
Not feeling the Frugality! :(
