English version Hello, my dear friends—readers and entrepreneurs alike. I hope you are well and having a wonderful week. Today, I want to share a story with you—one that moved me to tears. It is a somewhat long story, but I will try to tell it briefly. Many years ago, a family of five lived in a medium-sized house—a home they built and renovated over time, filling it with love and the sounds of children playing and growing up together, believing it would last forever. The family consisted of a father, a mother, two boys, and a girl. An interesting detail about this story is that the house is the same age as the daughter (19), and until a few years ago, she had never known what it was like to live anywhere else. Due to the situation in the country, the mother decided to leave; it was supposed to be a trip lasting a few months, and she took a suitcase but never returned—for those months have now turned into years. Added to this were the house's remote location and the fact that several other family members had already left, leaving us fewer in number and scattered apart. The others decided to move into the grandparents' house, while only the daughter stayed at her aunt's place, living there for a long time. After more than four years of visiting the house occasionally—stopping by, sleeping there only on weekends, cleaning it less frequently than before, and clearing out most personal belongings from the bedrooms—the two brothers also left the country, leaving only the father and the daughter behind. The daughter went to live with her father at the grandparents' house. Once the brothers had left, visits to the old house became extremely rare; no one ever slept there again, nor did they go to see it or even step beyond the garage. Then, a few days ago, the father and daughter decided to go and show the house some love, little by little; when they opened the door, they realized the house spoke to them, expressing its displeasure at having been abandoned. Many things were damaged, stained, and covered in dust; others were broken, and some were utterly shattered. A crucial detail of this story is the hallway, lined with photographs that preserve moments that seem to have been forgotten. Upon entering, the girl felt a knot in her stomach; with every step she took deeper into the house, the pain in her chest and stomach intensified. It felt like walking through memories—slaps of reality revealing what once was, but is no more and never will be again. Every corner of the house seemed to speak, acting like a projector that played a thousand memories, reminding her of what a home—her home—used to be. A home that was lost and no longer exists. As she cleaned, she thought to herself, "You could fix up the entire house and every single corner of it if you wanted, but that won't bring back those moments or the family that lived there; that simply doesn't exist anymore." It was such a harsh reality that she couldn't help but break down; I believe such moments remind us that we are human and alive—and that we have the right to feel, whether it be love or sadness. That little girl is me, and I won't deny that seeing the house abandoned—looking as if no one had ever lived there—was a harsh reality check. It reminded me of a line from a song I love by Juan Gabriel: "Hold me, for time passes and never forgives; it has taken its toll on my loved ones and on me. Hold me, for time is a cruel friend; hold me, for it cares not who we are." How true those words are; time has passed, and things have changed. One of my current goals is to help my dad in the process of reclaiming our house—whether through this platform or another—and to restore the joy and light to that home that it once gave to us. I feel that one of our mistakes was thinking that by staying away, not only would the house remain undamaged, but we would also forget the moments we lived there. That was a huge mistake, because someone was living there while we were away: those memories live there, and they will never leave, for that is their home.
