Hey All,
Will start the post with this famous line which goes by " Long time no See... " Busy busy and busy is all what I can say. Coming to todays post it all foscuses around the MagicOS 10 updates which has introduced a revamped user interface, advanced AI integration, and expanded cross-device sharing capabilities. I kept getting alerts on my mobile device to upgrade the software, and finally, before deciding to upgrade, I wanted to check what was actually included in the update and what changes I could expect. So, what is MagicOS which is the software that runs on HONOR smartphones. We can think of it like One UI on Samsung phones or OxygenOS on OnePlus phones. Hence for HONOR mobile phones its the MagicOS and here is a high-level summary of the recent updates and improvements that come with MagicOS 10, making the phone smoother, smarter, and more enjoyable to use.
- Smoother – better animations and overall performance - Smarter – more AI-based features and improvements. I am yet to explore the AI features - Fresh looking – changes to the design and user interface. Looks amazing. - More efficient – improvements aimed at making everyday use better
Yes, there is also Cross-Brand Smart Connectivity, which allows HONOR devices to connect and work more smoothly with devices from other brands, making it easier to share and transfer content between them. I tried this feature by connecting it with Samsung mobile phones, and it worked smoothly without any major issues or complicated setup.
Do you see this feature where they are naming it as Industry-Leading AI anti-fraud call detection. I am actually using this feature myself and, to be honest, I really like it but so far have not expereinced the AI intervening or alerting that the call is potentially a fraud one. So, let me show you how you can enable it and how it can be useful in your day-to-day calls.
How to enable it AI anti-fraud call detection
Based on your HONOR phone and MagicOS 10 version, you can generally look under:
Settings → Security → AI Anti-Fraud / Anti-Fraud Protection
Now the the AI feature is enabled one need not manually check every call. The feature works in the background and can provide a warning when it detects a potentially risky or fraudulent call. As I mentioned, I am yet to experience a situation where MagicOS actually detects a conversation as fraudulent and alerts me about it during the call. So, I cannot share a personal experience of how the warning appears in a real scam call. Maybe some other time when I have expereinced about it then will do a seprate post around it. But for now the jest is that if someone calls you and the AI detects something that looks suspicious or potentially fraudulent, the mobile phone can show a warning during the call. At a high level visualize the following image and it should give you an idea how AI is coming into the picture detecting Anti-Fraud Calls..
