Hey All,
I am sharing the work done by my kids, Dishi and Laksh, who worked together on a poster showcasing “The Importance of Mathematics in Games” for their School Mathematics Competition — Inter House Mathematics Competition – Ramanujan Month. The concept and quiz were prepared by Dishi, while Laksh presented it. The reason for sharing it here on the HIVE Blockchain is SIMPLE - I want to preserve their hard work and cherish these moments at a later point in time. Both the kids' dedication was so much that they went on to create the final poster as a replica of the thumbnail of this post, i.e. the image above. They took the reference from ChatGPT to create a similar image showcasing an example of “TRIGONOMETRY IN GAMING.” Before I get to the making of the poster here are the details related to the Inter House Mathematics Competition for celebrating Ramanujan Month integrated with Leader In Me – Big Rock Vision.

It is a two round competition process - definetly not going to be that easy..
Round 1 – Worksheet Round: All interested students will take a Mathematics worksheet to assess their basic concepts, logical thinking, problem-solving and application of Mathematics. This was cleared by both Dishi & Laksh...
Round 2 – Final Round: Students who gets shortlisted from Round 1 will participate in the final activity which is associated to - The Big Rock/LIM [Leader In Me] connection should be clearly reflected in the students’ work or explained during the presentation to the honorable guests from different schools.

Dishi did ALL the heavy lifting when it came to drawing the poster. She put in a lot of effort and patiently worked on the details to make the final poster as close as possible to the reference image. Both the kids were serious and worked hard till 2:00 AM in the night to get the final version of the poster ready. The reference from ChatGPT had quite a few mistakes related to the associated mathematics formulas and other nitty-gritty details, which had to be corrected. Otherwise, it could have been a simple disqualification — if the maths formulas themselves are incorrect, how is the kid going to explain the concept of Mathematics in Games?

Hence, the corrections were a must before we could conclude that the final poster is good enough to be presented as part of Round2. Fastforward and have a look at the final version of the poster as below...

Now Laksh’s part kicked in, where he was confident enough to present the poster and explain how SIN, COS & TAN θ are used in games. He went through a few examples and was confident enough to talk through them and explain the concepts to the esteemed guest. Some rehearsal was done at home to build up his confidence, and finally, a punch line was added to the script to make sure this line was definitely said, no matter what... 😄
And the line is...
Thank you, esteemed guest. And before I end my presentation, I would like to add one last line — NO MATHEMATICS, NO GAMING - Because, after all, it’s mathematics that makes gaming possible.
