LeBron is Finally Done Holding The League Hostage

But he is not done tearing down, burning and pissing on his own legacy.

Where to begin with just how dumb this all is. Let's start with this: LeBron James will conduct his farewell tour while wearing the uniform of... The Philadelphia 76ers! Let me repeat that so it can sink in.

LeBron James will conduct his farewell tour while wearing the uniform of... The Philadelphia 76ers!

WTF?!?!?!?!?!

Never before in my life, have I seen a legend who is so absurdly unaware of what actions/inactions impact his legacy. And make no mistake, LeBron is/will always be a legend. Until Wemby, I had never seen a more physically gifted basketball player. Wemby has now taken that title, but LeBron did it for 23 years so I'll slow my roll on the Wemby vs LeBron argument. There is still along way to go there. But one thing is for sure, Wemby has already shown he is more of a "killer" than LeBron. Lebron loves to win. Killers like Jordan and Wemby hate to lose. OK back to this "decision".

My brain is going so crazy right now trying to figure what the hell LeBron wa sthingking that I don't even know where to start. Do I start with the destruction of his legacy? The spirit crushing of the Cavs fans? The complete lack of basketball fit? What a douche he is for being so attention seeking?

I forgot how much I used to like LeBron James

It is basketball, so lets start there. The 76ers roster looks like it was compiled by a 13 year old playing NBA 2k27. The starting lineup of Embid, LeBron, Brown, Edgecombe, and Maxey is simply eye-popping... until you remember there is only one basketball and there has yet to be a video game that can truly simulate the walking injury that is Joel Embid. Embid has played in just 96 total games over the past 3 years. He is also 32 years old. So I do not it is even realistic to consider him as on the roster come playoff time. They don't even have a backup center anymore now that Drummond walked so who will play center in the playoffs? So at least that is one less guy who needs the basketball. But that still leaves four guys and one ball. On paper, Maxey is their point guard. But he led the team last year with 28 points per game and only dished out 6.6 assists per game. He also turned the ball over 2.4 times per game... so he is NOT a point guard. So no Center and no Point Guard. Great! They also do not have a lot of three point shooting. Their entire starting five are all decent three point shooters, but none are great. Embid used to be elite but he never plays and his three has disappeared over the years. I doubt it is getting better. So this decision makes no sense from a basketball standpoint.

Let's look at legacy now. Believe it or not, it was 16 years ago when LeBron cut out the hearts of Cavs fans on live television to "take my talents to South Beach". Since that time, it is undeniable that LeBron has EARNED the reputation of trying to take the easy way out in an attempt to be on a Championship team. Even when he decided to grace Cleveland with his almighty presence for a second time, he would only do it if they added Kevin Love to young star Kyrie Irving. But at least that was his hometown team so his need to have someone to defer to in Love and Irving was easier to stomach. And thank god he did because if it weren't for Irving in the Finals, LeDouche would have yet another Finals failure on his resume. Then he went to the Lakers.. but only lasted one year until he demanded the team get Anthony Davis. Again he was looking for anyone to be Batman so he could safely play Robin. And now there is the Philadelphia 76ers. There is no doubt LeBron is trying to "win" anther championship with Batmen Maxey, Brown and Embid. Once again leBron has proven to be a terrible GM. Maybe he is the kid holding the NBA 2K27 controller? So in the end, what will people rememebr most about LeBron? "He was the most athletically gifted player who had ever played up until then... and he was a coward who tried to win rings in the easiest way possible." He definitely solidified that last one with today's decision.

And now poor Cleveland. That city has been through enough. But LeBron keeps giving them the worst case of blueballs in the history of time. For the second time he gave them hope that the King would return. He jerked them around for a month back in 2010 and for a month and a half this time. People really thought he loved Cleveland. They really thought he understood how cool a LeBron farewell tour would look in a Cleveland Cavs uniform. They really thought he "got it". But no. He's still clueless. Back in 2010 when they showed him video of Cleveland fans burning his Cavs jersey, he was genuinely stunned. He honestly thought the love for Him transcended the fans' love of their team. Ummmm.... he was very wrong. What makes it worse this time is that the move would have actually made basketball sense too. Cleveland has 2 bigs in their prime, a primary scoring Batman in Donovan Mitchell and a decent bench. If they could trade Harden for literally anything, they would be legit contenders in the East.

But instead of a basketball fit that would also help repair his legacy...

LeBron James will conduct his farewell tour while wearing the uniform of... The Philadelphia 76ers!
