Hello everyone I wish you an amazing weekend in advance and welcome to another interesting French lesson, plesse don’t miss this one. So far I love our involvement and participation with the lessons, it means we are interested and learning something but I want us to do a bit better, I’d love us to get a small book set apart for the purpose of learning French 🇫🇷 or save the posts on our phone for easier access. We all know that saving posts or writing helps us refresh our memory when ever we go back to read.
Today we’re learning an expression you’ll hear very often especially if you spend time around French speakers.
The expression is a bit simple but may seem long and difficult to pronounce, it goes like :À tout à l’heure. It’s something or an expression that we’d need to use in our expressions almost everyday and would make us sound much more acquainted with the language.
It means See you later or See you in a little while, similar to the one I taught us last week which was A bientôt.
But today we are looking at À tout à l’heure.
It is pronounced like [ah too tah luhr].
French speakers use this expression when they know they’ll see someone again later the same day because heure means hour so it shouldn’t be too long.
It is warmer than saying goodbye because it carries the expectation of meeting again soon.

Je dois partir maintenant. À tout à l’heure ! – I have to leave now. See you later!
I like this expression because it reminds us that not every goodbye is permanent. Sometimes we’re simply saying goodbye for now.
