Happy new week everyone and special greetings to my fellow #community builders! I wish you an amazing week and hoping you already had a wonderful weekend.
Today is the beginning of the week, we all call it Monday and we know that it’s one of the most serious days of the week. For some of us we have different reasons to be serious, one of which is Monday being the first work day and it usually seems very official.
For me i love how most people takes it seriously with a lot of vibrancy, efforts and positivity because that’s exactly how we should get into it but today I don’t just want to get into the week with just that attitude or mindset alone but with one that is well convicted and sure that WHATEVER AFFECTS ANYONE ELSE WITHOUT ME INVOLVED DIRECTLY HAS ALSO AFFECTED ME. That’s the first rule of humanity and I’d love us to put this thought into consideration as we read further.
I personally don’t like how cold and non chalant our world has become, such that we don’t care about our neighbors and fellow humans in general. Aside the biblical references that encourages us to love our neighbors and some references in the Quran as well, what has happened to our conscience ?
We now live in a world where so many crazy things happen and no one stands up to act, we are in a generation where it’s easy to ignore problems until they arrive at our own doorstep, which is very very very very BAD! We have now gotten to the point where war happens on another continent and we scroll past it, war used to be the most feared situation as of old and the most dreadful but in these days it feels so normal… I bet that If we check our hearts deeply we might all be a victim of this evil or perpetrators rather because we ignored somalia 🇸🇴, then it moved on to Iran 🇮🇷, Gaza went down, Palestine 🇵🇸 was also destroyed by over 40% or more but we still kept our hands folded because it hasn’t happened to us just yet. Even the prices of food increase somewhere else and we assume it isn’t our concern because we still happen to get it so much cheaper but there is even a worse case.
The worse case of them all is when a new disease appears in another country and we continue with our daily lives! C’mon how can we be so cruel!??? Who brought us up that way? How did we even get here ??? During Covid 19 and many other pandemic events like Ebola many people ignored and weren’t so scared or worried until months later when those same events and symptoms somehow find their way into almost all communities if not all.

One thing history has taught us is that the world has become deeply connected than we can wven think or imagine. Technology and civilization has made things so much faster and connected thst spreading negativity and viruses 🦠 doesnt take more than a mili second so thats why we don’t need to fold our hands but act fast to curb whatever problems that others face before it gets to us, and guess what? When such a thing spread out to our environment it always gets worse, with much complexity.
Nowadays if we notice keenly, conflict in one region affects oil prices somewhere else. Who else noticed that since America 🇺🇸 started fighting Iran 🇮🇷, Bitcoin has been falling immensely and oil prices have been skyrocketing ? A drought in one country changes food prices globally because we don’t care to attend to their demands…if we continue like this we would ruin ourselves and our world. A cyberattack on a company thousands of miles away can interrupt businesses across continents so the idea that “it doesn’t affect me” becomes harder to defend every year.
Perhaps the lesson isn’t that we should worry about everything happening in the world, that would definitely be exhausting so I suggest something more easier…Maybe it’s simply that we should care a little more because our lives are more connected than we often realize.
Understanding global events isn’t only about politics but it’s about understanding how our own lives are quietly shaped by decisions and events far beyond our borders.
