these days kids are very smart, just few days ago I noticed my kid sister already a tiktok account with my mom's phone, as a matter of fact she's on all major social handles posting on daily basis, now imagine if she has a phone of her own.

I strongly believe that phones for kids now will become a big tool for distraction, even as an adult, I need a enough discipline to restrain myself from using my phone too often, it can be very tempting to always want to get a hold on it, even when I'm on something serious, before you know it I'm off to some social media watching irrelevant videos and dumb scrolling and before i realize lots of time has passed. not to talk of kids.
kids are naive, kids can be gullible, kids feel free to do anything, easily influenced, the internet today is filled with so many good bad and the ugly things, more especially these kids will be drawn to what their friends do most of the time and it's not always good.
my thoughts should phone be allowed in schools? my answer is a capital
"NO"
first of all that will promote certain illicit activities among the students, imagine a teacher in class and student are busy with thier phones, to me that's a height of disrespect.
allowing phones in school will lead to distractions. because every now and then students will be busy with thier phones either playing games, music, videos or chatting online, these are times they should be investing in reading, assignment and project or having a good book time among themselves.
students dependency ratio on these device will be high, cause everything will be Googled or ask chatGpt, students will lack that interest in books, they will lack the ability to read deep, researching, trying to take up an assignment which will further learning will be lost, students will likely go into exam halls with thier phones for malpractice which is very wrong and highly prohibited.
I have a cousin of mine who wasn't allow to own a phone untill she got admission into the university, that's how I intend to raise my kids, 100% focused on books, natural ways of learning other than depending on Ai for everything, this will Naturally trigger their eagerness to learn and research which is a great way to develop the minds.
