I Think the Algorithm Ate My Attention Span but I'm Doing Something About it

it is just not me who's attention span is fried to the point where it is difficult to focus on things like I can't help reading anything, I can't help with thinking with clarity without crashing out
I can't read no more thesis like I used to dig hours and can't stare at those charts that used to be going up and down every minute
Can't even listen to music at this point and think for a minute without crashing out so it is clearly a nightmare kind of situation that needs attention to fix but the whole problem is with the attention, that needs fixing and I think I've figured it out what works for me and could work for others as well.
The Micro Scrolling is a way
I used to be doomscrolling most of the time and it is mostly the reason why my attention span is cooked like this but it could be easily have better impact when we go from doom scrolling to micro scrolls.
Instead of scrolling all day I've found few things to do in between that.
Most of day is mostly spent at work, can't be on mobile while I'm working that eventually saves me big time but that's not all, by micro scrolling I mean reducing screentime to the point where I don't even want to scroll, I feel like getting bored when I purposely scroll on insta.
So the first is to bore YOURSELF of the algorithm and those reels.
The binge worthy shows is what I needed
Like I said paying attention to listening music was becoming a struggle, watching an episode was hell of a thing, I can't stand 5 minutes into the shows and will eventually quit.
But now what worked best for me was watching the shows that caught my interest from the very first 5 minutes.
Replaced doom scrolling with micro scrolls and ended up watching a series that is so good you won't leave your seat before finishing it all.
As long as show is asking for your all attention it means your attention span is somehow going to heal.
And when I say it works it works, next time I'll talk about the shows that I binge watched but for now let's move to the next point that helped.
Become an active reader
It feels good when I write and it happens quite in flow with all my attention to the topic but that isn't enough, writing is healthy specially when your attention span is fried
But you need more, find yourself the topic that are your nerdy interest and read those for as long as possible.
The moment you are reading one topic to another and jumping from one to other without getting bored is the moment you know you've fixed most of the problem.
I meant specific topics that are for nerds, if you're into tech read about it, if it's stocks read about it, even geopolitics and other stuff it would work as it is for me.
And I'll keep on finding more to become a person with a solid attention span. Wonder how's your doing and what you're doing to make it better?
that's all folks.
