I made this one very hard on myself because I saw a demonic entity right away and refused to paint it.
so after staring at it for weeks - and trying a bunch of things with it to avoid the negative entity, I tore the whole thing into bits and reglued it on another substrate - and then immediately saw El Diablo
He was undeniably there in the picture - the lesson I learned is that whatever I see I have to look at squarely, so that it can change. As long as I deny it or push it away - then I am denying my lesson based on prejudice and pride - obviously - what will people think of me if I paint this demon?
Mainly people living in my house. I live in a tiny little house and my studio is in the kitchen and living room. I have no privacy at the moment, for art-making. It's just not the circumstances I am presently in.
This just proves another point about surveillance -

Once I saw El D, I knew I had to paint Him and that's when I started seeing the fish. I couldn't see the good until I was willing to look at the bad - yin and yang. You would think I had learned this lesson by now -
Times are hard with brain fog...
So I brought out the fish - and the message is that the Shadow is not to be feared- He, like everything else, is just a glint in the glimmer of life - if I acknowledge Him, accept Him, then I can evolve - but if I deny Him, He will hold me at a standstill.
