The most soothing part of this experience has been watching the Water Strider Bugs... and that's what this month's Lunar Day Portal is about. This is a scene from in the creek looking up at the water strider bug skimming on the surface of the water.
What I have found is that Nature is constant. She is the same. She has not changed and I can count on her to show me beauty, never the same way twice. So, I am giving up completely on humans and I am going into Nature full force to find beauty. Humans - I have a few good friends and I have my service work, but I need something I can count on to always be there for me while I am in the meat suit - and it's Nature.
I have solved a lot of my problems recently... I have moon in Cancer which makes me a home-body and I have had, all my life, a feeling of disconnection from everything. I have been overcoming extreme childhood trauma, trying to get at the roots of some of the things that isolate me and confound every step forward I try to make.
In 2020, I lost my purpose. I had been doing a form of service work for the former 28 years that was very fulfilling. It had been dwindling for about 15 years prior to that, due, I believe to the internet making people more and more self-centered and lazy. My work / purpose depended upon other people, unfortunately. In 2020, the people that I worked with realized that they did not need to be doing as much service as we all had been doing, and they realized that they could survive at home (or so they thought), and everything I was doing halted completely.
I spend the next 6 years trying to get it back - to no avail. For most of that time, I was depressed. I barely did any artwork at all.
About 8 months ago, I began to seriously confront the effects of growing up in extreme chaos and violence.
During this moon, I re-read "The Body Keeps The Score" by Bessel Van Der Kolk, MD and realized that I have been suffering from Developmental Complex PTSD. I began serious breathwork and I descovered the connection that I had never been able to attain with Nature. So now, I am breathing deeply as much as possible.
I had an interesting experience several weeks ago. I woke up in the morning and heard The Voice in my mind say "Go for a walk today in Nature." But where? I asked. The Voice replied - "The place you drove by on Ward Rd. on the way to the chiropractor". I could see a picture of it in my mind's eye. OK, I said.
Paradise! It's called Van Bibber Open Space and it's 5 miles of quiet, birds, plants, and bugs - during the week it's empty. Honestly, I did not "take" my own digital photos because TAKING photos now feels like I am stealing.
