¡Hola, espero te encuentres de maravilla! Hi, I hope you are feeling great!
Uno de esos eventos que marco en mi calendario desde inicios del año es este Festival. Y si vives en Perú y aún no lo conoces aquí te mostraré parte de lo que viví desde dentro del evento estos 2 días.
Un punto importante aquí en cada edición nos visita más gente de LATAM (Latinoamérica) y eso es lo que busca el Festival. Esa unión, ese compartir mediante el lenguaje del tejido con gente de todas las edades y nacionalidades.
>This festival is one of those events that I marked on my calendar at the beginning of the year. And if you live in Peru and haven't heard of it yet, here I'll show you some of what I experienced from inside the event over these two days.
>One important point here is that with each edition, we welcome more visitors from LATAM (Latin America), and that is exactly what the Festival hopes to achieve. That connection, that sharing through the language of weaving with people of all ages and nationalities.

Aproveché esa oportunidad, porque estaba July de [Mamaquilla](https://www.youtube.com/@mamaQuillaTejidos/videos). Allí ví que habían voluntarios durante el Festival. Así que el siguiente año estaba atenta a la convocatoria.

I decided to take advantage of that opportunity because July from [Mamaquilla](https://www.youtube.com/@mamaQuillaTejidos/videos). There I saw that there were volunteers during the Festival. So the following year, I kept an eye out for the call for volunteers.
--------------------------- --------------------------- 5° edición Festival Lima Teje Bienvenidos || Welcome
Luego de pasar la entrevista, en el 2025 fuí parte del [Festival Lima Teje (5° edición)](https://hive.blog/hive-127911/@inici-arte/xjqkwweg). El ambiente que se vivió esos días fueron chévres. Conocí a gente con ese mismo amor por el tejido, entre las voluntarias, adultos mayores (en su mayoría), diseñadores, talleristas, las alpaqueras (de zonas Altoandinas) y diversas marcas proveedores de hilados y quienes ofrecen productos terminados.

I met people who shared that same love for weaving, including volunteers, older adults (mostly), designers, workshop leaders, alpaca herders (from the high Andes), and various brands that supply yarn and sell finished products.
------ ---- 6° edición Festival Lima Teje Amistades tejeriles || Crafty friendships
Este año fue algo así como el reencuentro, jaja con algunas voluntarias y conocí a las que se incorporaron para esta edición. Me parece que es la única vez que gente cercana a mí me ve tejer. Aunque esa no era mi intención, pero no había de otra. Al ver al cachorrito entendieron el tipo de muñeco que hago.
>This year was kind of like a family reunion, jaja, with some of the volunteers, and I met the ones who joined us for this edition. I think this is the only time people around me have seen me weaving. But that wasn't my intention. I just had no other choice. When they saw the little puppy, they understood the kind of crocheted toys I make.
Tiempo de tejedores || Weavers' Time
Siento que tomé menos fotos porque estoy valorando más el pasar mayor tiempo con las personas. Creo que son momentos para compartir que me regala la vida. Incluso, me daban ganas de sentarme a tejer en una de esas mesas que estaban en el Patio de comidas.
>I feel like I took fewer photos because I'm placing more value on spending more time with people. I think these are moments to share that life gives me. I even felt like sitting down to weave at one of those tables in the food court.
Arte por todos lados || Art Everywhere
Conocí a quienes manejan varias técnicas de tejido y dan clases particulares, diseñan para marcas, tejen para ellas mismas, tejen con trapillo (piezas decorativas), tejen para sus hijos, amistades; y quienes están aprendiendo nuevas técnicas.
>I met people who are masters of various weaving techniques and give private lessons, design for brands, weave for personal use, weave with fabric yarn (decorative pieces), weave for their children and friends, and those who are learning new techniques.
Mi parte favorita || My most favorite part
Yo diseño muñecos y pronto aprenderé a tejer ponchos... tengo uno a 1/2 camino (me falta tejer más de 100 Grannies y termino, jaja). Uno de mis sueños es elaborar mi propia ropa. Eso incluye zapatillas, botas, medias (calcetines), bolsos caceros y mochila viajera.
>I design crocheted toys, and soon I'll learn how to crochet ponchos... I'm halfway through one (I still have to crochet more than 100 Grannies and then I'll be done, jaja). One of my dreams is to make my own clothes. That includes sneakers, boots, socks, hunting bags, and a travel backpack.
Llevé una clase de tejido || I took a crochet class
Esto si fue de improvisto. Como estaba la marca de hilos con los que tejo, aproveché pedir información de sus productos. Y a lado había una mesa con mujeres tejiendo. No sabía que eran clases particulares, pero me sirvió para ver la calidad de enseñanza de tejido a crochet de la profesora y saber qué no hacer... Solo eso.
>That was a real surprise. Since I was at the yarn store where I buy my yarn, I took the opportunity to ask for information about their products. And next to it was a table with women crocheting. I didn't know they were private lessons, but it helped me see the quality of the teacher's instruction in crochet and learn what not to do... That's all.
Modelaje en vivo || Live Fashion Show
[Pedrito](https://www.instagram.com/pedrovlanco/) nos sorprendió con un desfile de modas. Verlo en vivo fue un sueño cumplido ¡Yehhh!. Lo que me encantó fue el objetivo de este desfile. Si hay 2 días donde veo la mayor cantidad de gente con algo tejido puesto, ese es este lugar "Pacha/ tiempo" el Festival. Por eso, Pedro invitaba a que la gente se uniera a la fila de modelaje y recorrer todo el lugar. ¡Gracias Pedrito!.
>[Pedrito](https://www.instagram.com/pedrovlanco/) surprised us with a fashion show. Seeing him live was a dream come true. Yehhh!. What I loved was the focus of this fashion show. If there are two days when I see the most people wearing something woven, it's here at “Pacha/Time” the Festival. That's why Pedro invited people to join the modeling line and tour the entire place. Thanks, Pedrito!.
Machos/Hombres que tejen || Men Who Weave
Hubieron múltiples charlas gratuitas o libres, sin duda esta fue una de las más esperadas (video al final). Me encantó escucharlos, se nota que estos chicos son seres chévres. Recuerdo que los talleres de uno de los chicos, era de los primeros que se llenaba. No sé si serán famosos o no en Perú (no consumo farándula ni chismes, jaja), solo sé que sus tejidos no son estáticos.
Antes de irme, esta semana subiré un video resumen de parte de lo que viví en el Festival. Estará en mi canal de YouTube, en el segmento [Khawavlogs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67FwFksLd4&list=PLvZ6XOfJe288Yf1ye0-RQzLQ-DEgow7w). Allí también comparto otros eventos a los que asisto.
>There were many free talks, and this was probably one of the most anticipated ones (video at the end). I loved listening to them you can tell these guys are awesome. I remember that one of the guys' workshops was always the first to fill up. I don't know if they're famous in Peru or not (I don't follow celebrity news or gossip, jaja), but I do know that their fabrics aren't static.
