¡Hola, espero te encuentres de maravilla! Hi, I hope you are feeling great!
Aproveché este fin de semana para tomar una clase de bordado en el Museo central. Lo particular de este taller fue la temática: "Bordar la memoria, símbolos del antigüo Perú en hilo". ... Y como me encanta todo lo relacionado a la Identidad cultural de un lugar, tenía que estar allí.
Antes del Taller, hicimos un recorrido por los cerámicos y tejidos que estaban en el Museo. Eso lo compartiré en otra publicación, porque ví Chumbe o Chumpi (cinturones tejidos) y ropa tejida por nuestros ancestros Culturas prehispánicas o Pre colombinas.

Materiales || Materials
Este Taller era libre y con materiales incluido, entre ellos había: Un bastidor (aro de madera para bordar), hilos de colores, tela Tocuyo, lápiz y un diseño de rana. Elegí la rana para esta vez sí terminar mi bordado.

I chose the frog so that this time I would actually finish my embroidery.
Puntadas de muestra y el sol || Sample Stitches and the Sun
La profesora nos mostró 2 tipos de puntadas (azul y amarillo): Puntada tallo y puntada cadena. Como sobraban diseños en la mesa (jaja), agarré el Sol, para seguir practicando el bordado.
>The teacher showed us two types of stitches (blue and yellow): stem stitch and chain stitch. Since there were extra patterns on the table (jaja), I went for the Sun so I could keep practicing embroidery.
Pasando el diseño || Transferring the design
Para esto, coloqué el diseño impreso debajo de la tela. La imagen de la ranita (el diseño) se notaba clarito y con un lápiz lo pasé a la tela. Luego lo coloqué en el bastidor. Una compañera creo que ya bordada porque trajo un lapicero especial, cuya tinta se borraba cuando terminaría de bordar.
>To do this, I placed the printed design under the canvas. The image of the little frog (the design) was clearly visible, so I traced it onto the canvas with a pencil. Then I placed it on the frame. I think one of my classmates had already embroidered it because she brought a special pen whose ink would fade once she finished embroidering.
Punto tallo || Stem stitch
Nos dieron hilos de colores: Rojo, amarillo, celeste, marrón claro y anaranjado. Nos pusimos creativos para combinar entre esos colores. Esta puntada sí me gustó como quedaba. Inicié con la carita para no olvidarme este tipo de puntada. Cierto, entre los asistentes éramos variados en edad y sexo... Como estas fechas la gente está de vacaciones, creo que la gente se animó a aprender cosas nuevas.
>They gave us colored threads: red, yellow, light blue, light brown, and orange. We got creative combining those colors. I really liked how this stitch turned out. I started with the little face so I wouldn't forget this type of stitch. A little extra info: The participants were a diverse group in terms of age and gender... Since it's vacation time right now, I think people were eager to learn new things.
Ranita albina || Red eyed frog
Desde un inicio quería bordar 2 ranitas. Por eso, una sería Albina (de ojos rojos) y otra Daltónica. Aunque, aquí parecía mas un monito creo, jaja.
>From the very beginning, I wanted to embroider two little frogs. So, one would be Albina (with red eyes) and the other would be Daltonica. But I think it looked more like a little monkey here, jaja.

Al terminar el Taller nos dijeron que podíamos llevarnos los materiales, siempre y cuando terminemos nuestros diseños y sigamos practicando el bordado... Varios éramos nuevos en esto del bordado. Yo sí me decidí a terminar a las ranitas; es mas, estoy viendo videos para agregar otro tipo de puntadas.
>At the end of the workshop, they told us we could take the materials home, as long as we finish our designs and keep practicing embroidery... Several of us were new to embroidery. I did decide to finish the little frogs; in fact, I'm watching videos to learn how to add other types of stitches.
