Hello Travelers! π
Our second day for our Malta adventure continued with another exciting and new experience for our kids. And this time, we were heading to Mediterraneo Marine Park.
We woke up late because we were tired from our trip. We started our morning getting ready ourselves. We did not prepare our breakfast because we were running out of time.
When everyone was ready, we walked from our apartment toward the bus station. Morning in Valletta was already busy, restaurants preparing to open and the same with other shops.
While walking, the beauty of Valletta hits different and it was a nice way to start the day.
Finally, at the bus station, we stopped to buy some food while waiting for our bus.
Our kids don't know the main reason we're going to the park. It was not just the attraction, it was all about dolphins. It was there to see the dolphins up close.
When we arrived to the Marine Park a bit early. And we have company whose living in Slovakia too. Kids are so excited can wait to open the park.
The Marine Park is a marine attraction, we can see different animals and there's educational presentations and shows too. The park has dolphins, sea lions, and other types of birds like parrots. Visitors can spend more time exploring the area.
It was exactly 9 in the morning when the park was open. Then we went to the office for the payment and gave us the map. Shows will start in the area.
TΓ‘to told them about the dolphin, it was not just an ordinary show. To their surprise, they have the opportunity to get close to the dolphins and even touch them.
That's the most exciting part of their day. Seeing the kids was full of excitement of what they heard from TΓ‘to.
There are different experiences and packages available at the Marine Park. One is the Swallow Package which we chose. This package has the chance to get close to the dolphins and have photos with the visitors.
Before their dolphin experience, they had to change their clothes and the staff gave them something to wear, then a briefing.
The staff speaking in English and one kid from Slovakia cannot understand it. So Aya explains to the kids the important rules and instructions about how to behave around the dolphins.
The briefing was so important, especially to the kids who are thrilled and can't control their voices, it will give stress to the dolphins. After their briefing I talked again to Aya because I know how she screamed when she saw something cute like dolphins. Then Aya said Mama I know. The staff heard us and told me, Mama please don't let her get embarrassed. Then I replied, sorry but I know how she react in the situation and I'm just being careful.
Fast forward for the briefing.
They started to go near the pool and us parents waited on the bench to take beautiful moments for our kids. Even adults were also with Aya's group, so anyone can experience it too.
The moment they were waiting for- one by one they can touch and the dolphins will show some tricks.
Seeing them happy was a special experience we've been looking forward to. Not everyone can encounter personally to the dolphins and made the whole trip worth it.
It's a bit pricey, the package for 15 minutes interaction cost 80 euro each. That's why kids will have it. One staff member was assigned to take photos of their experience. And we just pay 75 euro for all the photos she captured. It was not edited, it was raw photos and all the shots the staff captured we can have it by email.
Yes pricey for 15 minutes but it was ok. We will work hard for our kids and all for their memories.
The dolphins were the star of the show. It was so wonderful to watch them jumping, swimming and respond to their trainers
It was an entertaining show and we're so happy for Aya and Z having the chance to interact with the dolphins. The show has ended; they don't even want to go out on the pool. They want moreβ¦. But it's coming to an end.
After the dolphin show, they changed, took a shower and we went to the sea lions. We were expecting that the sea lion would show some tricks but it's not the same as the Manila Ocean Park we visited. The trainer just talks and talks, more of an education.
The education show ended for the sea lions, then no one wanted to explore the parrots and other places in the Marine Park. They already got what they came for.
They wanted the dolphins, they saw and even got to touch them. So, for then it was mission accomplished ππ¬
So we had a family talk, what we will do next. Then everyone wants to eat. Food we want. There was a restaurant inside the park.Pizza, pasta and chicken for our lunch.
After lunch, we made our way toward the bus stop and waited for our bus back to Valletta Bus Station.
By that time, my husband told us we will go to Sliema. Actually his itinerary was changed, he was expecting more time in the park and Sliema will be the next day's plan.
The bus arrived, ready for our afternoon trip. We rested for a while and put our things in the apartment.
Seeing kids happy made it a beautiful family memory. We will always carry with us this part of kids once in a lifetime experience.
Our dolphin adventure to Mediterraneo Marine Park was over, but our Malta story was not.
Next blog Sliema.
