Hello, dear Holos & Lotus community!

I hope you are all doing well. Today I want to share a reflection inspired by a very simple image: two empty chairs facing each other beneath the shade of a tree.

There are no people in the photograph, and yet it is difficult to look at those chairs without imagining someone sitting there.

Perhaps two friends having a long conversation.

Perhaps a couple enjoying a quiet afternoon.

Perhaps two family members sharing stories that have been repeated many times.

Empty chairs can seem like symbols of absence, but sometimes I think they can also be symbols of presence.

Because when we have shared a place with someone we care about, that place can continue to remind us of them long after they have left.

I think places have a strange way of keeping memories.

A particular chair, a table in a café, a corner of a garden, a balcony, or even a street can suddenly bring back a person we have not thought about in a long time.

Sometimes it happens because of a smell, a sound, the afternoon light, or simply because we happen to stand in the same place again.

The interesting thing is that the place has not actually remembered anything.

We are the ones remembering.

Our mind connects the space with a moment, a conversation, a laugh, or even a silence.

And for a few seconds, something from the past feels surprisingly close.

I don't think we should always try to escape those moments.

Some memories deserve to be welcomed.

They remind us that certain people have been important enough to leave an imprint on the way we see the world.

> Somos nosotros quienes recordamos.

There is also something beautiful about the fact that distance does not always have the power to erase a connection.

Life changes. People move to different cities or countries. Friendships evolve. Families become separated by circumstances. Sometimes our daily lives stop crossing, even when affection remains.

We may not talk as often.

We may not know every detail of each other's lives anymore.

But that does not necessarily mean that the bond has disappeared.

There are people we can speak to after months or years and, somehow, the conversation continues almost where it left off.

There is a familiarity that time cannot completely erase.

Maybe that is one of the quietest forms of affection: knowing that a relationship can survive periods of silence without needing constant proof that it still matters.
