Mi hijo de 11 años, ha sido el heredero de los celulares que se han ido descartando en casa, y como él solo lo usa para ver videos de youtube, alguno que otro juego y whatsApp, la verdad no nos animábamos a comprarle uno nuevo, sobre todo, porque siempre he estado en desacuerdo con que tengan un aparato de esos desde muy chicos.

Pero en casa, al no contar con televisor, juguetes u otro elemento que lo ayude a distraerse, además de que mis ausencias por los horarios laborales, tampoco dan pie para que tenga amigos con quien salir a jugar luego de las clases.
Es por ello, que gracias al celular, encuentra un poco de diversión hasta que llego a casa y me hago cargo de la exposición a la pantalla, de jugar, conversar y colocarle tareas que lo traigan de vuelta a la realidad.
Sin embargo, el último teléfono que tuvo se le dañó la batería, y el quedó incomunicado, usando mi laptop como televisor en las tardes, pero le incomodaba tener que ceder la silla cuando yo debía usarla, por lo que se propuso tener su propio equipo.

Como en Julio salieron de vacaciones de invierno por dos semanas, habló con mi compañera que vende verduras y le ofreció sus servicios por esas dos semanas, ya que haciendo cálculos, pensaba que tendría el dinero necesario para comprar un celular.
Fue con esa misma chica, que empezó a ver modelos de teléfonos en línea y encontró uno que se ajustaba a lo que ahorraría al final de ese ciclo.

Hace unos 15 días lo compramos con mi usuario por mercado libre y fue el viernes el día que llegó su encomienda internacional: ¡un celular a estrenar!

Esto, además de enseñarle el valor de la disciplina y la constancia, también le hizo entender que debe cuidar de su inversión, ser responsable por el uso de su tiempo frente a la pantalla, usar el recurso no solo por diversión, sino también como fuente de información, y lo más importante: que trazándose metas y objetivos, puede organizar mejor sus fuerzas para alcanzar sus logros.

Since they had a two-week winter break in July, he spoke with my coworker who sells vegetables and offered to work for her during those two weeks; after doing the math, he figured he’d have enough money to buy a cell phone.
It was with that same girl that he started looking at phone models online and found one that fit within what he’d save by the end of that period.

About 15 days ago, my son and I bought it on Mercado Libre, and last Friday his international package arrived: a brand-new cell phone!

This not only taught him the value of discipline and perseverance, but also helped him understand that he must take care of his investment, be responsible for his screen time, use the device not only for fun but also as a source of information, and most importantly: that by setting goals and objectives, he can better organize his efforts to achieve his goals.
