Good afternoon, my dearest #Hive readers! Happy Thursday to everyone—I hope you’re having a wonderful day. It’s your friend Manuel here, and I’m really excited to share a new digital illustration with you that I’ve been working on for the past couple of days to post on my blog. This time, I decided to dive back into the universe of my dear friends in the #Holozing community to create an artistic depiction of the little creature Ermy—an adorable-looking creature inspired by the mountain weasel, a fast and fearsome creature with a high chance of landing critical hits, and one that makes up for its lack of defense with agility and a high chance of dodging. My idea was to recreate the creature’s endearing appearance in a cold, icy setting—like a pine forest blanketed by a snowstorm. >Muy buenas tardes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de #Hive, feliz jueves para todos, espero que estén teniendo un excelente día. Por aquí los salida su amigo Manuel, muy emocionado de traerles una nueva ilustración digital en la cual estuve trabajando durante el último par de días para compartir en mi blog. En esta ocasión, decidí sumergirme de nuevo en el universo de mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de #Holozing para realizar una representación artística de la pequeña criatura Ermy, Una criatura de aspecto adorable inspirada en la comadrreja de montaña, una criatura rápida y temible, con una alta probabilidad de asestar golpes críticos, y Lo que le falta en defensa intenta compensarlo con agilidad y probabilidad de esquivar. Mi idea fue recrear ese aspecto tan tierno de la criatura en un ambiente frío y gélido, como una especie de bosque de pinos cubierto por una tormenta de nieve.
PROCESS / PROCESO
For the pose and character design, I wanted to capture Ermy sitting comfortably on the snowy ground while looking forward with a playful, confident expression. I focused on defining its sleek body shape, its large expressive eyes, its cute pink nose, and the characteristic blue feathery collar around its neck along with its long, leafy tail. >Para la pose y el diseño del personaje, quise capturar a Ermy sentado cómodamente sobre el suelo nevado, mirando hacia el frente con una expresión alegre y confiada. Me enfoqué en definir la silueta estilizada de su cuerpo, sus grandes ojos expresivos, su tierna nariz rosada y ese característico cuello de plumas azules junto a su larga cola.
For the background and environment, I built a cold winter scene. I drew a snowy pine forest in the backdrop using soft blue tones and heavy blur to create a sense of depth and distance. To complement the icy atmosphere, I added a heavy snowfall layer with scattered snowflakes blowing across the frame. >Para el fondo y el entorno, construí una escena invernal y gélida. Dibujé un bosque de pinos nevados al fondo utilizando tonos azules suaves y un desenfoque pronunciado para crear profundidad y sensación de distancia. Para complementar el clima frío, agregué una capa de tormenta de nieve con copos cayendo y flotando por toda la imagen.
For the final touches, I worked carefully on the light and shadow values on Ermy's fur so it would stand out against the white snow. I added cool blue ambient highlights along its back and paws, and balanced the contrast between the dark blue collar/tail and its light coat. Rendering Ermy in this snowy landscape was a really fun creative challenge! >Para los toques finales, trabajé cuidadosamente en las luces y sombras del pelaje de Ermy para que sobresaliera contra el fondo blanco de la nieve. Agregué reflejos en tonos azules fríos en su lomo y patas, y equilibré el contraste entre el plumaje azul oscuro y su suave pelaje claro. ¡Darle vida a Ermy en este paisaje nevado fue un reto creativo súper divertido!
