Greetings, my dear crafters, #Hive. Today I’m going to show you a crocheted coaster I made with decorative details—a flower that protrudes slightly from the edge of the coaster. We’ll start by making a round white base using a magic ring, double crochet stitches, and slip stitches. We’ll embroider the stem in green using slip stitches on the surface to give it a curved shape, and then we’ll create a base for the leaf—that’s where we’ll crochet the tulip.
I’m using some yarn scraps that a crafty friend gave me—she lives in a small village near my city. I’m so grateful for her gift; sometimes a lack of financial resources means I can’t afford to buy yarn, especially since I’m currently unemployed, but I love crocheting—it’s my hobby and it’s super relaxing.
My friend is very happy because she knows I’ll put those scraps to good use, so I went ahead and chose a color combination that looks cheerful. It’s pretty and very useful—I’m really happy with the final result. The more I worked on it, the more I fell in love with the magical world of crochet. 1.- Make a circular base using white yarn. In a magic ring, chain three stitches—which will count as the first double crochet—and work fourteen double crochets inside the ring. Close the first round with a slip stitch in the third chain from the beginning; you will have a total of fifteen double crochets.

2.- On this round, continue working three chain stitches, then in the same stitch, work an increase double crochet, followed by a double crochet (VVV). This will give you a total of thirty double crochets. Fasten off with a slip stitch.

>3.- Realizaremos en esta la vuelta, tres cadenas al aire, en ese mismo punto vamos a realizar un puntos alto, y esta vuelta es de aumentos y puntos altos, (VIVIV), y repetir hasta terminar la vuelta, cerrando con un punto raso.

5.- Continue the round. After joining, chain three. At that same point, work another double crochet, followed by three double crochets (VIIIVIIIVIII), and repeat until the end of the round, joining with a slip stitch.

6.- Make the curved stem that will cross the surface of the circular base; this can be done very easily. I chose to use slip stitches on the surface. To do this, bring the green yarn for the stem from the back to the front, inserting the hook into the spaces between the white stitches while following the curved shape of the circular base. When you reach the edge of the base, make a few stitches to simulate the base of the leaf, and that’s where we’ll crochet the tulip flower.

7.- The tulip flower will stand out subtly along the edge of the coaster. We’ll crochet three chain stitches followed by a double crochet, using three strands of pink yarn, then close the loop; make a double crochet and repeat the same process until we have three mini tulip flowers, then close with a slip stitch, cut the yarn, and fasten off.
