[Movie] Movie Review: Hotel Labamba.

Let's talk about Hotel Labamba, a very interesting, intense, suspense-filled, and funny movie. What I love most is the fun and suspense in it, and I'm being serious here; I love how evidence would point at this person and immediately point at another person again. Even though it was a serious one, they still found ways to chip in some comedies to make you laugh out loud.
Now, what is Hotel Labamba about? This movie was shot in a hotel where people of high caliber often lodge and have fun, so at a time some guests came in to have fun and enjoy themselves. One of them is Ella, a very rich and popular influencer; she came in with her lover. And in no time, just some minutes into the movie, we found her dead; I mean, Ella died.
How come? What happened? Who killed her? How did she die? And because Ella was a celebrity, the hotel too is a big and popular one; they couldn't hide her death, and that was how everyone, including the hotel workers, became suspects. Detectives were brought in to investigate the matter, find the killer, and make sure he or she faces the wrath of the law.
Well, one of those detectives happen to be Bimbo Ademoye, you know how serious and funny she can be, she knows how to blend both together perfectly and that she did in this movie. And even though the hotel owner wanted the case to be buried because they're are expecting even more influential and powerful people, still they couldn't bury it. Investigation kicked off, and a lot of things began to come to the open. Even before they found out how Ella died and if anyone was responsible for it, a lot of secrets had started coming out. Almost everyone there has a dirty, messy secret and something they're trying so hard to protect.
When I began watching this movie, I knew it will be fun, I wa so sure of that, what I didn't know was that it would be this interesting and suspensefilled, even the title itself shows that it will be fun, but I love how that it was way more than fun.
And what kept me glued again was the death of Ella; it was mysterious and it happened so fast and suddenly that I just felt the need to see how it would be unraveled. And I'm glad I took my time to watch it; the storyline was superb with the suspense it contained.
Aside that, I love how the movie also explores around love, relationships, crime, fake lives, and different things. It is a movie I can recommend for anyone to watch. It is a Nigerian movie, but then it is and will be worth your time, believe me.
One of my favorite characters there is Bimbo. Nah, that lady is damn good; you can't even tell me otherwise. She made the movie more interesting and entertaining, especially as she acts as one of the detectives in charge. Also, lateef Adedimeji, the rich, loud, funny and annoying guy, he acted as Ella's lover. I love how loud he was, very loud. And even though some complained about it being too much, I felt it was necessary.
A lot of actors starred in that movie, and they all did well, you know, all bringing their own goodies into the movie to make it a complete one. And even though I enjoyed the movie so much, I still have a few offs about it. One is the humor in it; there are certain scenes where I found myself laughing instead of being concerned about the murder, and me laughing wasn't my fault; it was the movie. I mean, the fun was good, but then some scenes actually needed more seriousness than the way they did it.
But then again, I love how the movie explores around things that we can very well relate with, talk of the social media extravagant lifestyles, the fake lives, the fake relationships, the behind the scenes and many more. All of those gave the movie an extra touch and I feel it is okay to say they did that movie intentionally and that it was directed at we the young ones who always run after and can do anything for a luxurious life.
Hotel Labamba, give it a watch and thank me after.
