I once again managed to find a type of wood mushroom growing behind my house; this particular variety thrives on oil palm fronds. Unfortunately, however, the texture had already hardened, indicating that the mushroom was old. It was not particularly large, featuring a bright white color with white speckles across its body. While this mushroom is edible, its texture becomes tough and brittle with age, making it highly inadvisable to consume—as is the case with the specimens shown in the photos I am sharing here. This mushroom has a fairly stable population in my area; it typically grows on dead areca nut trees, mango trees, oil palm fronds, and other decaying timber. The rainy season in my area may have ended, making it difficult to find mushrooms now; I only came across a few varieties while searching in the oil palm plantation. This is to be expected, however, given that mushrooms tend to proliferate during the rainy season or in damp environments.
